What did I do wrong? I followed all that they told me to do, I didn't eat more than I was allowed to do, I did my best to keep up with the Pod. But they just left me.

Swimming around I headed towards the surface. They always said that the Surface was dangerous, but that could just be another one of their lies.

Reaching the surface I stuck my head out of the water. The first thing I noticed was how loud it was, then how bright it was. I was taught things about humans and what they did, but seeing all the things they saw for themselves was a bit overwhelming.

In the distance I saw land, a big building jutted out from the land, built where the water was. Swimming towards it I decided that hopefully it would be safer then the open water.

When I reached close to the land the sun had already setted. Swimming down into the reef I found a little empty cave to sleep in. My stomach growled as I attempted to sleep. It had been a whole day since I had eaten, before my Pod would give me their leftovers.

Whining, I swam from my little cave and looked around. There were several different types of fish, all of them too fast for me to catch. That night I went to sleep hungry.

In the middle of the night I woke up. I didn't know why I did until I heard melodic singing. There were three voices, one singing and two humming to each other.

They all sounded lonely, My instincts pulled me from my cave again. Muffled chirps came from my mouth as I swam in the direction of the three voices.

On the other side of a tall wall were the three voices, they didn't know I was there. The voices were so comforting. One was melodic and soft. The other more deep and gruff, still comforting all the same. The last one was soft and comforting, safety just resonating from his voice.

Only the first one was singing now, the faint whistling and chirps of the other two talking to each other was more faint. After a while I settled on a rock below the surface, pressed against the wall and listened to the comforting sound of the voice.

After a while soft purrs left my throat, Humming along with the singing. The singing abruptly stopped as I started to hum along. Whining in protest of the lack of singing I chirped for them to continue. A soft croon responded to me. Sitting up I gave a surprised chirp.

"You can hear me?" I asked. There was a light chuckle before they responded.

"Of course, little pup." The voice was soft and smooth. "Why are you so close to the surface, little one?" He asked.

"I live here!" I chirped proudly. Technically this is my first day here, but he doesn't need to know that.

"Why are you on the other side of the human wall?" I asked. The voice lauded before asking.

"Humans are dangerous little guppy. They took me and my Pod. We are trapped in a human building" He said. I whined before responding.

"I'll get you and your Pod out!" I don't know him or his pod, but they seem nice. There was a laugh from the other side of the wall.

"That would be nice, but it's impossible for a small guppy like you. Maybe you can get your pod to help" He said. Whining I hit my fist against the wall. There was a comforting croon from the other side of the wall.

"I'm strong. I promise I'll get you out. Without the help from my pod!" Puffing out my chest I gave a confident thrill. He didn't need to know I don't have a pod anymore.

"Sure you will." He said, sounding sarcastic.

"What's your name, little one?" He asked.
