The stranger dragged Kyle through the overcrowded loud mall. He would have to scream for the stranger hear him, so he did.

"Why did you think it would be a good idea to go at this time of the year?" Kyle yelled, looking at the christmas decorations everywhere. The colorful decorations clashed with the white and grey wall, but also went perfectly together.

He had to admit, it was fun seeing everyone freaking out about their dumb christmas trees and silly decorations that would only be up for a month or so. He didn't celebrate christmas cause he was jewish.

"Well, it's more fun isn't it?" The stranger replied, still yelling because otherwise Kyle wouldn't hear him in the absolute hellhole of an overcrowded mall. He dragged Kyle by the hand, which gave the redhead butterflies.

He didn't know why, but this guy made him feel weird.

They stopped infront of McDonalds. The line was long but the ice cream was so worth it. It was a new addition to the menu of the restaurant, in fact it had only come out a few years ago, three to be exact.

The stranger looked at him and gave him a warm smile, displaying yellow teeth that so perfectly matched the obnoxious orange attire he wore, an orange parka slightly unzipped so Kyle could look at his face; he was absolutely gorgeous. Kyle smiled back with eyes closed.

He wasn't sure what happened next, or why he felt horrified, or why everyone started screaming in horror. He just knew something heavy fell on him and the stranger, he was in pain. He tried to scream but he blacked out-

He woke up screaming in his bed, cold sweat all over him with a pounding headache. He rubbed his head and groaned in pain. He turned his head to look at the clock that read 4:30 AM, it was unusual; he never woke up like this before. But he didn't get to process that as his mother ran into his room.

"WHAT, WHAT HAPPENED?!" Sheila yelled. He wanted to tell her to shut up but he couldn't, he knew she was worried and he wasn't in the mood to get grounded for a month. It was dark but he could see the worried expression on her face still. "Mom, I just had a nightmare. It's fine now."

His dad came in next, still half-asleep. Rubbing his eyes he asked. "Huh, what happened?" He didn't show it, but Kyle was sure he was worried too— Maybe not was worried as his mom, but worried nonetheless.

"I just had a nightmare, that's all." He shrugged, Sheila still sat beside him to hug him while Gerald turned on the light. "My poor baby!" She cried, and Kyle had to resist the urge to roll his eyes.

It was really not that big of a deal.

"Sheila, we should go to sleep. Kyle needs to rest." Gerald interrupted after a solid 3 minutes of hugging, and she softened her grip on Kyle.

"Okay.. You're right." She pulled away from the hug. She patted him on the back before getting up. "Goodnight Kyle, sleep a little more." She said as his dad turned off the lights and walked away, his mom following close behind.

As soon as the door closed, Kyle let out a long sigh. He felt all sweaty and gross, that nightmare was really fucking scary. He didn't know why but when he looked at that stranger, he felt nostalgia. Longing for something that had never been there. He wanted to tackle the guy in a hug, for no reason it seemed.

He was pretty sure he'd never seen that guy before. He heard that the people in your dream are people you've seen in real life before, but Kyle was starting to doubt that. He has NEVER seen that guy before. Who the hell wears that much orange?

Nevertheless, he rolled over and tried to go back to sleep, ignoring the invisible eyes he felt on him.
