A/N: a short one but I'll get more up soon!!

On my doorstep is the real monster. His clothes tattered from his trek and his bread is longer than it normally is.  He looks worse than I remember. Maybe its because I have known the act of caring and protection from someone else or maybe I just know he is evil, now.

His eyes fill with rage as his eyes land on me. His footsteps bring him closer to the door. I want to run but I know he'll come for me, my wolf. He was there last time he'll come this time.

"You run away from the home I provide, the food that I allow you to eat, for what? This one room shack. You ruined my future. Now you ruin my month by disappearing. I had to get your brother to do your chores and he ain't happy. You should be lucky I was to one to found you." He shouts as he roughly grabs my hair and drags me behind him as he leaves out the door out to the cold snow.

My bare feet feel the freezing snow padding the ground and my legs and body feel the sharp stings from the sticks protruding from the ground along our path. I hiss in pain when I am caught between two fallen limbs and he still pulls at my hair to bring me along with him.

"Father.......Father, please stop. I am stuck." A slap sounds through the quiet trees as his hand connects with my face.

"How have I told you to address me you filthy runt." His face twisted becoming even uglier as the anger he feels distorts his face.

"Sorry sir....but I am stuck." He lets go and I breathe easier knowing he is allowing me to move under my own steam, at least for now

The entwined branches have snagged my jacket ripping a piece off.  But I do not care. I quick untangle my body from the dead trees and come to stand behind him with my hands clasped and my head bowed.

"We are going home, you go back to work and hope your brother forgets you disappeared."
