*A week or two later*

I'm 25 weeks today and I couldn't be happier. I'm so excited to see my baby girl in my arms for the first time in months.

My due date is around April 17. I have about another four weeks until April 17th comes around. And honestly, in really scared, a little nervous, but mostly scared.

I've never really taken care of a baby in my life. Other than helping with Hunter when he was little. But I was only seven at the time so I couldn't really "take care" of him. I would only keep him occupied if mom was busy. I've only changed a diaper, maybe twice.

"Riley, babe." Luke says as he nudges me with his shoulder.

"W-what?" I ask as I look at him.

"Your mum asked if you wanted pizza for dinner."

"Oh, yeah. That'd be great."

I hear her call back with an "ok" before saying she'll pick some up on her way back from dropping something off at work.

I let out a little shaky sigh of nervousness as I lay my head on Luke's shoulder and running my fingers up and down his hand.

"Luke."

"Yeah, babe."

"Luke, I'm scared."

"Why are you scared?"

"I have no fucking clue how to take care of baby." I say as I let out a frustrated groan.

"That makes two of us. Babe, the only time I've ever handled a child before was when my niece and nephew come to visit. Which is hardly ever. And they're already like three and four." He tells me.

"I'm going to be a horrible mother."

"No you're not. You'll just be getting used to things. Once you know what you're doing, you'll be a pro." He says and gives my hand a squeeze.

"I'm still scared."

"Me too baby. Me too"

We all silently eat out pizza as the t.v plays in the background.

As I go to bite into my second piece of pizza, my phone starts ringing. I get out of my seat and see its Kona.

[k:Kona, m:Me]

M: hey, what's-

K: Ashton's in the hospital

M: what?

K: we were on a walk and he was hit by a car. Riley, please get here.

M: ok, I'm coming. We'll be there as soon as we can.

I quickly end the call and grab Luke from the dining room table.

"Ashton's in the hospital, we have to go." I say and pull him with me to the car.

"What? Is he ok?"

"I don't know. But we'll find out when we get to there."

"What happened?"

"He was hit by a car."

"Shit! God, I hope he's ok." Luke says as he nervously rakes a hand through his hair.

"It'll be ok." I say, trying to comfort him.

I grab his free hand and lock my fingers with his.

We finally reach the hospital. I pull into a parking spot as close to the doors as possible.

Getting out, I walk as fast as I can to the entrance.

"Hi, how can I-"

"Ashton Irwin. Where is Ashton Irwin?" Luke rushes.

"I'm sorry, but you can't visit him right now."

"Dammit, where's his room?" Luke says raising his voice.

"Sir, in terribly sorry, but you can't see him right now." The nurse replies.

"Luke, it's ok. We can wait out here until we're able to see him." I say as lock our arms.

"No! I need to see him right now." Luke argues.

"Guys, none of us can go into the room right now." Kona says with tear stained cheeks.

"What happened?" Luke asks, jaw clenched.

"We were just goofing around and he ran across the street after a soccer ball, and as he turned around to look at me, he was hit." She explains and starts crying.

"Fuck." Luke growls.

"I'm sorry. It's all my fault." She sobs.

"No! Kona it's not your fault, it just happened. He'll be ok." I say.

I guide Kona to one of the chairs, and sit her on it. Looking up, I see Luke pacing back and forth. Running an occasional hand through his hair.

"Luke." I call softly.

He stops pacing and looks over at me.

"Please come sit down." I ask and gesture to the empty seat next to me.

He sighs and runs his hand through his hair once more before striding over to sit next to me.

I sit back in my own chair, taking each of their hands in my own.

"It'll be ok. He'll be ok. We'll be ok." I say and give their hands a squeeze.

Luke leans in and gives me a quick peck on the lips. Then Kona lays her head on my shoulder as we sit on the waiting room.
