Chapter 11

Day Of The Ball

    That guards from the royal treasury arrived early that morning Commander Hawk asked me who they where arresting during the ball and how it would go down. I explained everything to him so he new exactly what to do. All I need to do was give him a paper he would read out loud, that would tell them who did it.

    Me and Jocelyn were up in my room getting ready for the ball. Jocelyn whore a peach off the shoulder ball gown dress with pink and blue flowers with green leaves decorating the dress. She whore the butterfly earrings with the matching necklace. I kept her hair down because her curls completed the look. I then had her put on peach close towed flats.

    She then left because the guests would arrive any minute and I was still not dressed. I walked into my closet and pulled out a white off the shoulder ball gown dress that touched the ground. It had silver designs on it. I enjoyed wearing this dress to special events. Then put on my Dimond earrings and necklace. I did my hair with a braided bun that was neater then the one I went to town in, and didn't look like I slept in it. I then put on white closed shoes. And headed down stairs.

    Bently came up to me. "Miss Alice everyone has arrived" He said while escorting me down the stairs. "Thank you Bently" I said with a smile before letting go of his arm and walking to the left of the stares in to a large ballroom with lady's and gentlemen all dressed in ball gowns and suits. The ball room was a light yellow with white accents and gold chandeliers.

    "Alice!" I looked and saw Dale. "Hi Dale." I said looking at him. He was in a black suit and white button up shirt. "You look stunning may I have this dance?" He said lightly bowing and offering me a hand. "That is very kind of you, but I was just about to ask someone else." I said eyeing someone in the back.

    As I pushed pass him I saw the shock of the rejection appear on his face. I made my way to the other side of the room where I saw Fin. "Finny!" I said walking toward him. "M'lady!" He came up to me and gave me a hug which I returned. "How are you m'lady?" He said bowing slightly. Little did he know I knew the reason he would say that to me and bow every time we met. It was to hide the faint blush amongst his face.

    "Im having fun but I need a dance partner. Will you dance with me Finny?" His eyes lit up and blushed ever so slightly when I asked. He replied, "As you wish m'lady." Bowing again to hide his blush. We danced to so many songs, and I could feel Dale stare at us in jealousy. But I brushed it away, he can't decide who I dance with or not.

    "Thank you for dancing with me Finny." I said as we walked off the dance floor. "You are welcome m'lady. I had fun as well." He said while looking down. "I need to go I will be right back okay?" I said while holding his hand briefly. "O-Okay." He looked up, and he blushed at the sudden gesture.

    A few seconds later I met back up with Fin. We danced a bit more, ate, drank some punch. We found Jocelyn and Bently and talked with them for awhile until the guards blocked the entrance. Not letting any one out... "it's time." I muttered under my breath.
