After confronting Susan, I went home in my Honda Accord Sedan. When I arrived home Jacob was inside. " Welcome home Leigh Anne" Jacob said happily. I ran for my bedroom angrily. He came inside my bedroom. " What is wrong with you coming in angry" He yelled at me. " It was a patient of mine's relative that yelled at me that's why"I said angrily. " I'm sorry" he said. Then he kissed me and nothing again. After that moment I made macaroni, spaghetti, bread, and wine for dinner. Jacob and I both went to bed in our separate bedrooms. The next day I woke up early and got ready for work quickly. I arrived at work on time . First I went to check on Mrs. Gordan. Inside her room I saw Adam talking to her while she was falling asleep. I overheard their short dialogue. " Granny I know your resting but with my college courses and job I can't always come by to see you like this in such a condition. They say they can't help you since you're case of cancer is so serious. So you can stay here instead of coming to a senior home." Adam said and kissed his grandmother. As he was about to open the door he and I met at the door. " Before you go inside I want apologize for my behavior and thank you for taking care of my grandma" Adam said. " Your welcome and I accept your apology" I said. Just before he left our eyes met and we kissed. I felt sparks that lately I have not felt with Jacob. He ran to the door and waved at me smiling. At the end of work I went home tired. Surprisingly, Jacob wasn't home until midnight. I was waiting for him t il he got home. " Why are you coming home late and are you going to make me worry about your whereabouts when we are married" I screamed at him. " Its none of your business" he yelled back. " You're drunk" I yelled back angrily. He slapped me for the first time in our relationship. I grabbed my things in a suitcase quickly. I put my suitcase outside the door before leaving . " Here you go Jacob my engagement ring. I can't continue this relationship. If this is the treatment you are going to give me during our marriage. I'm done with you!"I yelled back. I called my mother from Raleigh. I told her I was coming home and that the wedding was over. I bought an airplane ticket from Washington D.C. to Raleigh, North Carolina. Once I arrived mother came to help me unpack my clothes. We had alot to talk about. " Welcome home Leigh Anne. I've missed you dear. What happened with Jacob" my mom said. " We had a huge fight and he hit me mama" I said. I started to cry and the tears from my face felt warm. My mom comforted me and wiped my tears away. The whole afternoon we watched the Andy Griffith Show and drank tea. I decided not to eat dinner tonight. Suddenly, the phone rang and it was Jacob. He wanted to talk with me. " Where are you. I've been damn worried about you. " He said. " I'm at my mama's house in North Carolina. I'm not marrying you" I said. " Why?" he asked curiously. " After what you did last night to me I never want to see you again" I said. " Let's forget about that and move on" He said. I hung up the phone. He kept calling all night but I never answered. The next morning he called again and I picked up. " It's over Jacob. Can't you see I'm tired of you. Leave me alone and stop calling!" I said. I hung up again. Mama invited over Mr. Henry, her good old pal from Georgia. After my dad died, they began seeing each other. They are currently engaged. But I decided to rest and forget about Jacob forever.
