"I'm sorry"
The screams of terror and pain can be heard through the burning buildings and houses.
The smell of iron, burnt wood and corpses-- one could only imagine how that smells like to a child whose still supposed to be spoiled and taken care of between her mother's warm embrace.
But even that, the only one whose been on her side is now leaving her to fend off for herself.
"Shhh, don't cry my princess"
"Mommy will make sure that you'll live, okay?"
The woman in a tattered hood whispered to the little girl's ears as she warmly smiled at her.
Her hands were trembling, from the stinging pain of the burns and bruises, but she was trying to not show it on her face.
She thought that it must be a humiliating thing if the last time that her little girl would remember her, would be her mother's face in pain.
"Gab! My goodness Gab why are you still here?!"
A woman around the same age, suddenly called out to her, running towards their direction.
"Violet-"
"Hurry, I've already taken all the kids to the wagon, don't just stand there!"
Violet reached for Gab's hand and tried to pull her, but it seemed like she has already made up her mind about not going anywhere.
"Gab, are you out of your mind?! You have a kid--"
"I know!"
She was trying so hard not to cry earlier. But the sudden burst of emotion overwhelmed her.
Her tears started to fall slowly down her cheek. She was still holding it back, but it only made her chest more painful and tighter.
She closed her eyes as she breathe out trembling.
She felt a small hand caressing her face as it wiped away her tears-- opening her eyes to a small and fragile angel staring back at her.
"Mommy is showing such a hideous face to you, isn't she?"
'I'm sorry--'
'That mommy has chosen to make a decision like this'
She carefully passed her to Violet
"Take care of her. Both of you will lead a life separate from this kingdom."
"What are you saying?--"
For Violet, her bestfriend totally sounds like a crazy lunatic. She felt like she was listening to a bunch of bullsht that she can't even comprehend.
They've been friends since forever, but even up to the time where they'll be going different paths, secrets still remain unspoken.
"From here on out, you don't know me"
"And that, Gabriela----"
"Doesn't have a daughter"
