daniel's POV
- three days later -

I make my way to the janitor's closet. last night I texted emma to meet me here this morning.

when I get there, she's standing in the corner reading a book.

"hey emma," I say. emma looks up and smiles.

"hi Danny," she gives me a hug. didn't I just rudely dump you?

"Hey.. well i came to say sorry about everything."

"it's okay."

I pull her into another embrace so she's facing away from the door. Mia bursts in with jax. then mia freezes emma's legs with her ice breath.

"give us your powers, chosen one," mia grins evily.

"what the fuck? what is this," she looks at me, then mia, then jax.

"give us your powers, and no one gets hurt. plain and simple," jax says.

emma tries to move and fails. "why the hell do you need them?! fuck off!!"

that's it. it suddenly hits me.

there's no school today.

why in bloody hell would emma be at school when there's no classes.

something's definitely not right.

and how would the school be open if no one's here?

the only answer to that is,
