In the year 2050, society collapsed, and many things pushed it to that point, political instability, climate change, propaganda, and disease, but the tipping point was the lack of resources for the population. The rich part of the population flew off to Mars to live in their pods, living off potatoes and whatever else they could grow on the barren ground of the red planet, leaving the rest of the population to starve. Natural disasters crumbled the cities, many died from lack of food, clean water and healthcare, but the survivors... there aren't many, but one day, they will unite and build a new civilisation, leaving the shadow of their predecessors behind.
