As we continued firing our guns, I noticed something shiny behind it. I wiped my eyes again and squinted in the dark, but soon the lights turned on again. There was something greyish and shiny behind the creature's head..
Soon someone came with a machine gun and started shooting. The creature let out a loud screech and fell backwards onto its back. It knocked some of the black goo away- there was grey and pinkish metal underneath. My eyes widened.
"Someone pin that thing to the ground! I think I know how to stop it!" I'd yell, dropping my rifle and running forward.
Luckily, others followed me and quickly pinned it to the floor. I jumped on top of its chest and held its head on the ground, digging in my pockets with my free hand. It struggled underneath me and everyone else holding down its arms and legs, but couldn't get free. I looked around and couldn't find the metal thing I had seen before.
I felt the thing convulse underneath me and it threw up a mouthful of black ooze to the side. It looked at me with pure hatred and slight fear. Wait- fear? Why would it be scared? Oh wait- I have it TRAPPED!
I laughed maniacally, covering my mouth slightly. I pulled out a Mentos from my pocket. I had a hunch that this could be...
"Someone help me pry it's mouth open!" I asked looking back at the armed personal watching.
They nodded and rushed forward. The creature put up a good fight, but lost. I quickly grabbed the Mentos in my hand and shoved it into the creature's mouth and down its throat. It's eye got wide and seemed fearful as it struggled underneath us.
I pulled my hand back out and rubbed it against my uniform not liking the feeling of this ooze on me. Looking down at the creature, it gave a look of fear and anger. I got up off of its chest and backed up.
"Let it go, back up." I'd order.
They listened, some gave me an odd look but followed. We all backed up.
"Go look for anyone else alive on this floor. I'll stay with this.. thing." I'd say, looking down the hallway.
They nodded and ran down separate halls, leaving me and the beast alone. I walked off, looking for Jackson down the other hallway.
The hall was smeared with blood and black ooze, spread against the walls and floors. I looked around the other dead bodies, just wanting to find Jackson- and I did. There he was, laying by the wall. His eyes were still wide open and glazed, a big gaping hole laid in the center of his chest. I tensed up, walking closer.
Kneeling down in front of his body, I felt my eyes start to tear up. Why couldn't I have been quicker... Why couldn't I save him?
I picked up Jackson and proceeded to hug him, crying into his shoulder. I didn't care that my uniform was being stained with blood at the time. I wanted to mourn the death of my best friend.
I heard a shuffling behind me and looked back. Seeing the creature limp towards me, it looked hurt. It seems to be asking for help? It whined slightly and fell to the floor, holding itself tightly. I stood up, carefully laying Jackson back against the wall, and walked over. The creature whined and shook, but I didn't care. It killed Jackson, so it should DIE.
I pulled my pistol from my belt and pointed it at the creature's head, loading it. I held my gun there, wondering if I should actually kill this thing. It lay on the floor making small noises of pain. But it could be trying to get me into a false sense of security. I sighed, dropping my gun to my side and putting it back into my belt.
The creature started to scream a loud and scratchy wail of agony. It scratches at the floor as if trying to hold it in. Soon, the creature starts to throw up. It throws up immense amounts of black goo and shakes violently. It stops for a moment, pushing itself up with its arms, but regurgitates more of the black goo and falls back to the floor. I watched and smiled slightly.
