Monday 24th August
There is officially two weeks left of summer until I go back to school. My dad got a sudden offer of a promotion that required him to work all the way in Boston, Massachusetts, and my mum being my mum decided that we should all go with him.

So, we've spent the entire summer packing up our house and I've been saying goodbye to all of my friends. I really don't want to move away but I also don't want to be away from my family, so I'm having to sacrifice the only life I've ever known for a whole new one.

Unlike myself, all of my friends are beyond excited for me to go, they're all begging for pictures. Hopefully it's not as bad as I'm expecting but I really doubt it will be.

Today is my last day in England before we have to leave and get everything set up in the new home and get settled in. My room is now completely empty so I went downstairs to see what was left to do.

Juliette "Hey, I'm done with my room, what can I help with?"

Mum "No it's okay honey, me and dad have got it covered, I let your brother go out this morning, so if you want you can go out maybe meet some friends"

Juliette "Uh yeah good idea, I think I just wanna spend today alone though"

Mum "That's okay, please make sure you're back for around five, we're going for a meal with your grandparents"

Juliette "Okay, can't wait"

That was a lie, I actually can wait. The thought of not being able to see my family as and when I please really upsets me and I'd rather not think about that right now. I head back up to my room and put on the only clothes I didn't pack.

I decided to go to the park in the centre of town, it's a beautiful and calming place which is the exact setting I want to be in right now

I decided to go to the park in the centre of town, it's a beautiful and calming place which is the exact setting I want to be in right now.

Once I arrived I head over to my bench, so many memories have been made on this singular bench, I'll be sad to leave it behind. I took out my book that I brought and read for a couple hours until I was approached by one of my friends.

Grace "Juliette, hey! How are you?"

Juliette "I could be better I guess, it's moving day"

Grace "Oh shit yeah, I can't believe you're actually leaving. We're all gonna miss you so much"

Juliette "Yeah I'm gonna miss you all too"

Grace "But hey ho, I'm sure you'll meet some great people over there, you don't need to worry"

Juliette "Yeah hopefully, the thought is scary though"

Grace "Don't worry Jules, people are gonna love you and you'll still be able to talk to all of us! But anyways, I'm gonna have to go but it was nice seeing you, make sure you tell me all about America when you get there"

Juliette "It was nice seeing you too and don't worry haha, I'll make sure I tell you every little detail"

After Grace left I decided to walk around a bit, I went to the duck pond and fed them. This was something I usually did with my best friend Josh. I'm really gonna miss him but we're both hoping that his parents will let him come visit me in the October half term.

I headed to the skate park because I figured that's where my brother would be. He was there with his best friend Evan, and they both waved to me to come over. We spoke for a bit whilst they were both skating around, the time was cutting it close to when we needed to be back, so me and my brother started walking to the restaurant we were meeting out parents at.

The meal went great and it was lovely seeing my grandparents for a short time before having to leave. We said our goodbyes and left straight from the restaurant to go to the airport.

The drive was long so I listened to some music and drew some rough sketches on my iPad to get a head start on my work for art class.

Art's my favourite subject so I can't wait to continue it at my new school, it's probably the only thing making me excited for high school.

The flight was long but I managed to sleep through most of it. We got to the airport car park and called a taxi to take us to our new house.
