Here is the second update as promised although the target is still not complete. I hope you will complete it ❤️
AUTHOR'S POV
It was 2 weeks since that day. Since the day she came to know a very important part of his life. And honestly, it didn't have any effect on Yami's feelings. In fact, it increased way more with a mixture of respect and admiration this time.
She didn't feel hurt secretly watching him smiling at the photo on his desk. If truth is to be told, she used to imagine that if a photo without a face can bring so much love into his eyes, then how amazing of a person his wife would have been.
Now, it was love. A pure and mature love without expecting anything in return. The quality she learned from him only. And that is what makes it even more beautiful.
When it is a crush, you get jealous, you only think about your happiness, and it's only limited to your comfort zone. But when you start loving someone, you smile when the other person smiles even if the reason behind that smile is someone else.
"Tired?" he asked leaning against her Cabin's door frame as he saw her rubbing her eyes.
"Very much. You know my boss is very strict" she playfully replied closing her laptop.
He raised his eyebrows making her giggle.
Yeah, these 2 weeks were decent but enough to break the ice between them. And it was not just about boss and pa anymore. Maybe it was the start of a beautiful friendship. Or maybe something more...
"Want to go somewhere?" he asked as she approached him.
"Are you taking me on a date?" she clutched her chest in horror.
"Haha you wish" he rolled his eyes as they enter the elevator.
"Where?" she asked.
"Somewhere which will release your stress in seconds!" he snapped his middle finger with his thumb making a sound.
"Aahan! Mr. Dutta is praising the place so it must be very special" she teased.
"Very" he leaned back and smiled looking at nothing in particular.
"It's about her right?" she asked with a smile.
He nodded as they finally reached the parking area.
The car ride was not silent like before. There were topics like music, weather, politics, and movies being discussed.
After a 30 min ride, they finally reached their destination and Abhi parked the car.
It was the time of sunset.
She looked at the beauty in front of her which was serene.
"I never came here but it looks so familiar" she voiced out to Abhimanyu.
"It happens sometimes" he whispered moving towards the church.
She followed him still thinking about the familiarity of this place.
They closed their eyes to pray.
"Such a beautiful couple. Good to see you after so long"
"Such a beautiful couple"
Her mind repeated the same.
They opened their eyes and saw father smiling warmly at them.
Both of their hearts started beating strenuously listening to his previous sentence. But both with different reasons.
She frowned in confusion.
"Fath..." she was going to correct him when Abhi held her hand and left the place after giving father a smile.
"Why didn't you let me correct him?" She asked as they walked towards the beach.
"Maybe he misunderstood us for someone else. He will not even remember us the next time. So, why waste our time?" he shrugged sitting on the sand.
The sky was ablaze with the fire of the setting sun.
She sat beside him such that her knees touched her chest and she rested her hands on them.
Both of them closed their eyes feeling the solitude of the place and the wind that was slowly caressing their faces.
The pleasant breeze, the sweet smell of salty water mixed in the sand, and the sound of waves crashing against each other completed the scene of a perfect sunset.
The beach was empty because it was on the outskirts of the town so very less people prefer coming here which was good actually. It preserved its beauty.
They opened their eyes to the intense assortment of orange, yellow, and pink colors all over the sky with the fiery sun already starting to hit the water. The ocean water is now mirroring the colors in the sky.
"You used to come here with her?" she asked not thinking much.
"Hmm" he hummed looking at the waves.
"When you came here for the first time?" She asked looking at his face.
"When we were in college" he replied smiling at the memory but his eyes were fixed on the waves.
"You like someone?" he asked this time, not wanting to answer her questions. Yet.
"No" she chuckled.
She half lied. Because she loves him.
"Never?" his voice came out surprised.
"Umm...I used to like a boy till 10th grade. He was my childhood crush" she replied.
"Then?" he asked suddenly very much interested in the topic.
"I don't know" she sighed looking at the waves.
"You don't know? What does that mean?" he frowned.
"I..." she was going to reply but just then her phone started ringing. It was from her mother.
'Let's go back otherwise, my mother will eat me alive" she chuckled standing up and dusting her clothes.
He sighed and nodded as they finally left the place...
