Context: I was re-reading Darkness of Dragons, and there was this one line where Qibli was like, "Moon you can't go face Darkstalker in the middle of the war. Some Icewing could k!ll you." And in his thoughts, he thought, "Maybe even Winter." And my trash brain couldn't stop thinking about it, so here we are. (Btw this has non of my headcanons and is by the book)

Winter was flying amidst the war when he saw a Nightwing flying up to Darkstalker. His first instinct? K!ll. He frost-breathed the dragon, and as it fell, he thought he saw a glimpse of green eyes and silver scales. Moon. Oh no. What have I done?!!?!?! The Icewing flew to the ground, hoping it wasn't her. It was.
"Moon, oh no, oh no. I'm so sorry. PERIL! TURTLE!" He called out, hoping for either of them to appear to melt off the ice or to use the magic healing rock.
"Winter, it's no use. And for what it's worth, I forgive you." She died quickly afterward.
Winter ran away. He was scared. Scared his friends would hate him. Scared Qibli would hate him. There was no forgiveness now. He had k!lled Moonwatcher. It had k!lled him and Qibli on the inside too. Winter had nightmares, day after day. The same thing. The green eyes and silver scales of the late Moonwatcher falling past him. Winter knew Qibli might think it was just some Icewing who had k!lled Moon, but he knew that was wishful thinking. Qibli was a smart dragon. He'd figure it out eventually.
