a/n : WE STAN NIALL HORAN! WHAT A HOTTIE!

Steve pried his eyes open. He felt like hell. His hand was throbbing and head was pulsating.

Steve glanced at the blurry figure next to him, "Robin?"

Mike Wheeler rolled his eyes, "It's Mike, idiot. Robin came out of surgery an hour ago."

Everything snapped back to Steve and he flew out of his chair. His neck was sore from sleeping in such an uncomfortable position but he raced down the halls to Robin's room nonetheless.

As soon as he entered, his heart dropped, the girl looked so fragile and vulnerable hooked up to so many machines with wires snaking everywhere.

He faintly noticed Joyce and Hopper leave the room.

"S-steve," a scratchy voice echoed through the room.

Steve scrambled over to Robin's side, "Hey baby. How're you feeling?"

His voice shook with emotion.

Robin just hummed in return before shuffling over, "Come lay with me."

With no hesitation Steve crawled into the bed and she rested her head on his chest.

"That was so scary," Steve's voice wobbled, "I thought you..."

"...died," Robin finished, trying to light up the mood she jokes, " I did Steve. Apparently my heart stopped twice during the surgery. But I came back to life like a zombie. Cool right."

He just squeezed his eyes shut, " No. Not cool Rob. Don't joke about shit like that."

"Sorry."

Suddenly a nurse peaked into the room. She smiled fondly at the two cuddling on the bed.

"All right. You have a beautiful, healthy baby girl Ms Buckley."

Steve's face immediately brightened. A baby girl.

"I can't believe I get to raise an independent young woman with my best friend!" Robin sighed fondly.

She suddenly grew panicked, " I mean. Only if you want to that is. I understand it is a very big responsibility and if you don't want to-"

He cut her off by plastering a kiss of her cheek, " Robin Buckley. I know exactly what I want. I want this."

The nurse was watching the scene with heart eyes. These were the types of joys she experiences during the her day. And hell no, she wouldn't exchange it for the world.

"We just need her full name for the certificate"

"Uh...It was going to be Hadleigh Stevie Buckley," Robin laughed when Steve scrunched up his nose, "But her uncle here, can chose the middle name."

Steve almost passed out from the amount of happiness rushing through his veins, " Yeah...Stevie wasn't it Rob. Umm...I like Sage. Hadleigh Sage Buckley."

"Perfect," The nurse scribbled down the name, "Would you like to see her."

The pair straightened up and eagerly nodded.

A few seconds later the nurse came back with a small bundle, she handed it to Robin who gently cradled it.

A tiny little baby peaked from the blankets. It slowly opened its eyes and revealed an ocean of soft baby blue.

Robin felt Steve lean over and coo.

Tears were streaming down her face and her voice crackled, "Hey Haddy baby. I'm your mummy and I love you very much."

Hadleigh giggled and Robin's heart exploded with love. Her baby.

"I'm gonna be the best mum I can and give you the best damn life ever!" She tearfully smiled.

After half an hour of her staring at her baby lovingly, Steve started to complain.

"I want her now," he whined

So with much reluctance, Robin handed over Hadleigh with a huff.

Steve quickly stripped off his shirt. No one seemed to be phased except for Robin. She was confused.

As the baby nestled in his arm, blanket tossed away, he explained, "Skin to skin creates a better bond. I've um...been reading."

Hadleigh gurgled softly and smiled at him. SMILED.

He returned it with a very watery beam,"Hey baby girl. It's Uncle Steve. Me and your mummy love you very very very very much. Don't grow up too fast."

Hadleigh cooed, tugging on a piece of his hair.

"Owww," he complained, eyes shining.

Steve pried her hands away but she latched onto his finger.

He felt his whole being shudder with adoration. Steve slung an arm round Robin's shoulder who shuffled closer and looked up at him with sparkling eyes.

"Oh my god. This is so precious!"

Both of their heads snapped towards the voice.

The company fondly gazed at the sight while Nancy gushed on and on about the 'preciousness'.

Click.

Jonathan held the camera up to his eyes and snapped a shot.

"Memories." He grinned.
