a/n : does anyone like 5sos? I LOVE THEMM! NOT AS MUCH AS 1D BUT...

WAAAAAAHHHHH!

A baby's screech pierced through the silence. Robin practically sprung out of bed and rushed to the room. She was frantic with worry. Not because of the baby. No, these late night screamings were apparently very normal.

She was just afraid to wake up Steve.

Already she felt like burden moving into Steve's house, but if the baby kept waking him up there was definitely going to be a problem.

She scooped Hadleigh into her arms and pulled down her shirt. The baby latched onto her breast and started sucking.

Robin was absolutely exhausted, from not just giving birth just two day ago but being awoken by Hadleigh seven times that night. Still counting.

She had practically given up on sleep. Worry about Steve waking up gnawed at her until the baby screamed again.

She hadn't realised that Hadleigh had fallen asleep in her arms and she was staring into space until a pair of arms snaked around her waist.

Steve had been quite touchy and clingy during her stay and she wasn't complaining.

"Hey beautifuls," his voice was raspy and thick with sleep.

The baby's eyes immediately snapped open in recognition and she coed at him.

"You okay, Rob?" His voice held concern.

"Hmm...yeah," she muttered absentmindedly.

"Really? how much sleep have you gotten?" Steve raised an eyebrow.

Robin mumbled something incoherently.

He gave a pointed look.

"Ten minutes."

Steve stared at her in shock, "Robin Buckley! You need to sleep for fucksake. You literally gave birth a night ago!"

Robin frowned, " who will take care of the baby if I sleep?"

"Uh...me duh!" He stated obviously.

"No. No I can't do that to you. I don't want you to get tired of the baby and Me already. plus you won't get enough sleep. You need to sleep Steve!" She puffed out in frustration.

"Robin I know exactly what I've gotten myself into when I agreed to help raise Haddy. I wont leave, I promise." Steve gazed at her with sad eyes.

It was sad to think that Robin would think everyone would abandon her at the slightest issue.

Suddenly, Robin cried out in pain suddenly and his grip tightened on her.

"Rob, what's wrong?" He asked slowly.

The baby had latched on once more and her hard gums dug into her skin.

She gently removed Hadleigh's mouth as Steve cleaned up the speckled of blood and gently pulled her shirt up.

Robin carefully handed the baby over to him and rushed away. Steve called out to her in worry but she just flopped on her bed.

Why didn't her baby love her?

************************************************************
Life felt like a chore to Robin. If her baby didn't love her what was the whole point of being a mother?

She completed everyday like a robot.

Stay up all night with baby.

Feed baby.

Sleep.

Feed baby.

Go to work.

Feed baby.

Sleep the day away.

Repeat.

Steve had noticed Robin's behaviour and as each day passed his worry grew and grew.

This wasn't the Robin Buckley he knew. No, Robin was full of energy and excitement.

This Robin was void of all emotions, didn't smile or laugh and slept the day away.

It was after a month of horriblnees when he mentioned it to Dustin.

"Sounds like Post-partum depression bro."

"W-what?" It sounded serious and Steve felt scared.

"You might want to talk to her about it. About how she feels after Hadleigh and if she needs some medical help."

"M-medical help?" All Steve wanted to do was run home and wrap Robin in a hug

"Just do what I say bro. Sometimes all she might need it a shoulder to lean on. If you feel like she needs more then talk to her doctor."

"O-ok."

That evening when Steve came home he found Nancy cuddling up with Hadleigh.

"Peek a boo!" She tickled her stomach and the baby giggled.

For some reason Steve didn't feel his normal butterflies. This was his dream, right? Nancy, him and the little nuggets. Why was he feeling this way. Steve shrugged it off before asking the girl where Robin was.

"Family video. You're late for your shift too." Nancy smiled sadly and added, "Can you check up on Robin. She's not her usual self anymore."

He nodded and hurried away.

As he entered the store, he caught sight of Robin. Her head was buried in her hands and she didn't look up as she deadpanned, "Renting or returning."

"Robin," he muttered softly, "Can we talk?"

Her head snapped up in fear, "Steve! Are you okay?! Is it the baby? Is she harrassing you? Omg are you kicking me out? I'm so sorry for the inconvenience—"

Steve clapped a hand over her mouth, "No Robin. I don't want to talk to you for any of those...reasons."

Robin let out a breath in relief but then straightened up, " But then what do you want to talk about?"

He quickly slid next to her at the back of the desk and started," You. And how you are feeling these days.'

"Fine." Her answer was sharp.

Steve just stared at knowingly.

Robin sighed, "Hadleigh doesn't love me. I can't connect with her. She doesn't come to me when I call her name and always hits me when I feed her."

Steve didn't know whether to laugh or cry. It was ridiculous to not notice the way Hadleigh makes grabby hands Robin and stares at her mum longingly. It was so saddening to him that Robin was not able to realise those little things Haddy did to love her.

"Robin Buckley. Hadleigh literally adores and she looks for you everytime your away." Steve took her hand and lead her to his car.

"Where are we going Steve?" she mumbled tiredly.

"To your daughter " was his simple reply.
