Lillian gave an excited gasp as she unwrapped Zane gift her mother had gotten him, "Zane, look what nana and pappy got you! Your very own walker!", she said and Zane bounced up and down on Ryan lap, slapping the box.
After all the unwrapping, Lillian placed Zane on the floor with his little cousin, Junior in the crib. Brad had his son two months after Lillian and just like his word, he name him after him, but everyone just Junior, saying it would be horrible to nickname him BJ with a lot of immature people now a days.
Their two cute together, Lillian thought, pinching Junior cheeks softly and he smiled up at her.
Lillian got up and helped her mother in the finish up some Christmas dinner. Ryan was in the living with her father and brother, them playing video games. Lillian watched as Ryan jump up, shouting in victory as he beat her dad in football. Brad and Cassandra just rolled their eyes, Brad saying it was his turn and Ryan should be warned how good he is.
Lillian gave a small smile before turning back to the sweet potato's, cutting them up. Her mom came up next to her, taking the in leaves off the corn and smiled, "It was a nice Christmas.", she said.
Lillian smiled wider, "It was, Zane and Junior are two little spoiled boys.".
"Grandparents spoil their grandchild.", she said. "Like have grandma spoiled you three.".
Lillian chuckled, "True."
"So how are things with school?", she asked. "You said it was getting hard?".
"It's getting better, Duncan really smart and had patients with me I guess.", she said. "I think I might be able to get A's and B's this time if I keep it up with him.".
Her mom smiled, "That's great. Your showing you can do school and be a mommy.".
Lillian gave an exhausted sighed, "Grades are good, but it's so hard just getting up. Zane at least wakes up two times a night now.".
"I know, Lil.", she said. "I can see how tired you can be sometimes, your eyes show them. How are you and Ryan doing?".
Lillian shrugged, "Fine.".
"Any problems?", she asked and Lillian gave her a confused look. "I'm just asking because-i don't know, you two seem distance something. You barley spoke each time you visit before today that last few times."
"Ryan tried to.", she said. "With Zane, school, and work-we're just tired. Feelings like we've been married for like thirty years.".
Her mom chuckled, "It well all pass when Zane gets older. It felt like that with me and your father when we had Bradly, we were always tired and felt distance. You two just need to spend more time with each other without Zane.".
Lillian nodded before she remember the Valentine's dance, "Oh, mom, I've was going to ask you if you could take Zane over night on February fifteen.", she said and her mother gave her a confused look. Lillian knew she was going to ask why, so she just told her, "It's the school dance date for Valentine's. I wanted to go, but we'll need someone to take care of Zane and Meredith already watching Zane for me when I'm at school.".
"Sure.", she said.
She smiled and kissed her cheek, "Best mom in the world.".

Two weeks later.
Lillian was smiling excitedly as she walked down the hallways as she looked at her report card. In her six classes, she mostly got A's and B', only in math she as a C. She didn't make honor rolls, but she was very pleased with her grade.
