Cordelia's Diary
Dear Diary,
It is March 8th 1953. I cannot believe what my parents did. A month ago, my parents had found out I was a lesbian. It was pretty obvious since a young age, how have they only just figured this out a month ago? I never ever had fantasises of living with a rich husband like all of my friends did. I found it extremely distasteful. Men have just never intrigued me as much as women.I've been hurt before. But not like this. Parents are constantly supposed to protect their children from the horrific wonders of the world, yet... they put me in excruciating pain, both mentally and physically. I get it. These kinds of sexualities are forbidden. If you aren't heterosexual, you're a disgrace to humanity. That's just how it was. But why did it hurt so much to be seen as an outcast after people find out what you're interested in? Let's be honest. I was born to be an outcast from the moment I figured who I was out. And I expected it. But tell me why it hurt seeing and hearing people physically tell me I'm a revolting lady? The night they found out was the worst. I got a whooping from the belt by my father.
Here I am at 5:30am travelling to an all girl's religious catholic school on the outskirts of London. My mother said it's a great way for me to learn the right from wrongs of the world. But what is wrong is judging people based on who they truly are. I'm not looking forward to this whatsoever. I'll miss Rosa, Catherine and Cecilia dearly... I'll be back home in summer, but that's a few months away. I'll just have to be longing the wait to return back home for six weeks. I hope they miss me as much as I'll miss them... Rosa, Catherine and Cecilia are my best friends since the start of my childhood and I couldn't see myself having anyone else as a friend.
Catherine has jet black hair that shines under the light, brown eyes that reminds me of a majestic forest. She often keeps her hair in a messy bun. Rosa has the most pure reddest hair I have ever seen. Nothing beats her gorgeous twinkling blue eyes that reminds me of blue dome we see above us each and every day. Heaven knows why she cut her hair so short though. My father thinks it's appalling. All young ladies according to him must have long hair. But not Rosa. Rosa hates her long hair and often cuts it into a bob. Rosa's mother is the sweetest being ever. She doesn't judge her children for wrong doings, she has a small word with them and gives them warnings. If that isn't the way to raise your child, I don't know what is. And finally pure beautiful Cecelia has straight light blonde hair that reminds me of hope... Just, hope. When I see blonde, I often see the colour as sunshine and the sun is basically what keeps us all alive, you could say Cecelia is my sunshine. We often call ourselves 'sisters from another family.' I've known Cecelia the longest. I was four when I met her and we've been inseparable since. I've learnt to grow and develop with them and we've seen the worst in one another. We do everything together.
The fondest memories I have had with them was when we where all eleven. It was our first day in secondary school. We went to different schools before this point and we where just super delighted to be able to spend even more time with one another and make the best of memories. Nothing too much happened that day if I'm going to be honest. All four of us cried that day from the fear and just the overwhelming sense of excitement. It was a huge change in our lives which is why I probably remember it so much! But yeah! My girls are the light of my life.
Enough chit chat, I will speak to you later. I want to get some rest before my arrival.

I have been here for about a week now. In total honesty, this place sucks. Completely sucks. Girls can't even do their own thing without constantly being watched by one of the nuns. Their job was to make sure we where on our best behaviour and quite frankly they can get fucked. Let me do my own thing, y'know? I am my own person and I'm very independent. They know for a fact I will do my work to the best of my ability, to the point I will quite literally burn my brain out. If that isn't good enough, what is?
