My head pounded.
Why was I here? How did I get here? Where even am I?
I opened my eyes expecting to be on my back, on a street after a good night out, but when I opened my eyes, all I saw was darkness.
Pitch. Black. Darkness.
What on earth? What in the hell was going on?
That was before a single hanging bulb turned on above my head. I looked around only just realising I was unable to move, strapped to a chair in what appeared to be thick brown belts.
Panic filled my head, my eyes filling with tears.
Oh god I'm gonna die.
I tried struggling the restraints off, but they were too tight. Tears now pouring down my face.
Wait, there were metal tables, like ones that surround surgeons operating tables. But unlike those ones, the ones covered in syringes and scalpels, these ones were covered in burnt photos, old stuffed animals, numerous different friendship bracelets and notebooks.
Notebooks, that only my best friend knew about, old stuffed animals that me and my best friend shared, photos of me and my best friend with her head burnt out of the paper.
How were these here? Had someone been in my house? Had someone been in my old best friends house? But...she went missing years ago, these things were in her house, her old house, the one that her parents moved out of when she went missing.
My mind raced, raced with reasons they could be here, of how they got here.
What in the actual hell is going on?
I was so confused. That was until another bulb, further ahead of me, about 3 meters to be exact, came on. Revealing my old best friend, unconscious. She was strapped to a chair, just like me, but she was much more dirty, appearing to have not seen water in decades. Her hair was stuck together with blood and grease. But the question remains, whose blood?
If she was here, in the exact same situation as me, who is behind all of this? Who would plan her kidnapping?
"I bet you're confused, right now," came a voice.
But where from?
"Don't worry, you'll remember soon enough..."
Her dad, my best friends dad walked into view.
I screamed, "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?!"
He just smiled.
"Don't worry sweetie, you were the one who hired me to do this after all..."
