Sora wakes up, with Sakura laying next to him. He teleports up, out of bed, then walks into their little kitchen. He makes himself a drink that enhances his energy, aether brew, they call it. As he's drinking it Sakura walks in next to him. Sora sets down his cup to kiss Sakura, then finishes his drink, he washes it out with some water magic, and puts it back into their box for storing everything. They hold hands and walk outside, watching birds fly, people on the paths outside see the two and they start radiating happiness. Sora smiles off to the people on the outer islands, he gives a little wave. Sakura leans against his shoulder.
"Why can't every day be just like this?" Sakura asks Sora, he turns his head to look into her eyes.
"I wish they could, just because I'm busy with running an empire most of my day doesn't mean I love you any less, though." Sora responds, and kisses her again.
"I have a question for you, one of been wanting to ask for a long time, Sakura." Sora tells her, she looks at him with interest, but Sora does something, he opens a small portal, out of it falls a small box. He opens it and a obsidian ring with gold details and a pearl and amethyst crystals line the outside of the ring.
"Sakura, will you be my bride forever?" He asks, both their faces are red.
"Of course, my love!" She cries out and hugs him, as they walk out into the streets together Urzael saw them. They greet each other and Urzael remarks how happy they seemed. As the now three go into a nice restaurant Sora knows, they all sit down for a good lunch.
"So, Urzael, Sakura and I are engaged!" He says with a smile on his face, but also quietly enough for others to not hear.
"That's great news, congratulations, my friends." He tells them, his smile barely noticeable.
As the three walk into the spire and work their way up to the top, they reach the throne room, Sora sits there while reading through several things. Mostly news on Cornea, nothing super important, but he read it anyway because it's nice to keep tabs the new world. Drake moved onto Cornea, the first lord to not live on ground omega. Suddenly, Kieba blinked into the room next to him. and he punches Sora's shoulder.
"Come on, bro, when were you gonna tell me?" He half yelled and laughed as he leaned himself up against a pillar.
"Sakura told you, I'm guessing? Heh, well, yes, we are getting married soon." Sora said, Kieba had a big smile on his face, his red eyes gleaming with joy. Urzeal leans against a pillar on the other side of the room.
"Geez, Sora, you told me before him?" He said half directed at Kieba, Sora blinked at Kieba and he simply backhanded his head.
"Am I being forgotten now, bro? Seriously man you couldn't tell me first at least?" He told Sora.
"I'm sorry! We ran into Urzael on our way to get some food, and I couldn't help myself!" He yelled apologetically at Kieba. He just nodded and smiled.
"Don't worry about it, I had to at least make A joke, I'm not mad." He said. Urzael left the room to look out of the balcony, nearly the whole city was visible, even though it was massive. He looked around and spotted several faces. Kellan and Kian in the forest sanctuary, Alastair in his tower in the archive, typical. A beautiful day, people smiling, sun shining, life is good, just how I waited for. He told himself. At that moment, Sora was next to him on the balcony, looking at the same sights, but seeing different things.
"To think, that we built this place from the remains of a ruined planet, we brought the world back together, and now we have such a great place to call home." He started, when Urzael looked at him, he saw worry in his face.
"What if that guy calling himself the Overlord tries to attack us? What if we aren't strong enough? What if-"
"You worry far too much, my friend. Even if he comes, we will be ready for him. Nothing can stop us all. I've seen quite a lot in my life, and I know that the Overlord isn't our worst threat." Urzael cut him off. Sora doesn't deserve this anxiety, and he isn't going to let it ruin his friend.
"I... Thank you, Urzael. I feel like I'm asking all the heavy stuff today, but, will you be the best man to my wedding?" He asks, staring deep into Urzael's blue eyes.
"You're looking at me like you wonder if I'd say no. Of course I accept, and I have something for you, as a gift, and a reminder." He pulls out from his cloak a small golden locket, with the roman numeral I on the back side, he opens it in front of Urzael and on one side is a very finely detailed golden and carbon pattern with a glowing white jewel of unknown origin inside. The other side is a picture of Sora, Kieba, Chino, Sakura, and a figure he didn't recognize on it.
"The gem is made of condensed souls, namely, those of Chronos, Hikari, and what little I found left of... Your parents." Sora looked at him in surprise, and Urzael continued.
"As for the picture, you'll know in the future, remember who you are, remember who your friends are, and remember what you fight for. These people need you, they look to you as a leader, I can be your sword for as long as it takes, as all I want is to one day live peacefully." He explained, and handed it to Sora. Speechless, he put it on and looked into it for a while, before finally saying.
"Thank you, for everything, I know a little about you from before the empire, you saved Sakura. I wonder, did you know this day would come?" He asked, and Urzael hesitated, then nodded silently. Sora nodded, as if he understood so much more about his reality from this single conversation. Urzael went back to watching the world, as the sun was setting.
