"Alice!"
Is all I hear.
"Dylan?" I ask groggily.
"Yes, love, it's me. How're you? You looked so stressed while you were in Wonderland."
"Yes, it's just this guy in there, he's so.. frustrating!" I throw my arms up in exasperation.
"Hmm.. well I hope he's hands off." He says while setting me on the bed.
Dylan is so cute when he's jealous.
I might like this.
"What're you thinkin about?" He inquires.
"aha nothing, Dyl. He's hands off. He speaks in riddles. My head hurts."
Dylan's POV
Alice has awaken! I was scared for a minute. She looked so disturbed in her "sleep".
I'm really starting to hate what's happening to her.
"..my head hurts."
my poor Alicenne!
"Here, I'll go get you something for your head"
She looks struck with anxiety but she murmurs a "thanks"
We turn our heads to see Matilda in the doorway with bags of stuff.
OOH FOOD!
OH! Wait, Alice's painkillers!
Priorities, Dylan.
I rummage through my bag to find the Advil.
I grab it and hand it to a limp Alice.
Seriously. I can't with this shit anymore. I need her awake for more than 3 minutes.
I look at Matilda. She looks really troubled.
"H-has Ally always been that.. pale?"
I look at Alice. She does look sallow. My poor baby.
I sit on the bed next to her languid figure with Matilda. She holds her hand and checks for a pulse.
"It's weak, Dylan." She looks up at me with teary eyes.
I stare at Alicenne's face. I study it. Like it can give me answers.
NO.
I make my way out the door.
To find the people who are supposed to be helping Alice.
My Alice.
