We watched "Terrifier 2" and ate many snacks that would be considered a full-course meal, even though we watched a horror movie that would probably make someone's stomach upset. I'm surprised Lucy could pay for all of it, and I know it's not being a gentleman and paying instead of a lady, as my father taught me. She insisted that she'd pay, so we won't let it happen again. Taking advantage of someone's money is not a cool thing to do.
"Thank you for paying, Luce," I thanked and did everyone else. "It's no problem. I enjoyed this moment. Thank you for sticking as far as you are now," She smiled. Erza, with her glasses just put back on, smiled. "We should start heading home," Gray finally spoke. "Good idea. I need to take care of some things," Luce stated.
Curiosity got the best of me. I wanted to know what Luce needed to do, and maybe she needed help with it. "Is it ok if I tag along, Luce?" I request. She took thought and was a bit hesitant at first. "I guess, but I'm not sure if you should come."
I grinned, "I'm sure it'll be fine." I looked at everyone else, "See y'all Monday then?"
"Yup, see you later, Natsu," Levy spoke. Gajeel grunted while Gray tsked. I then looked at Erza; she knew I needed to ask her something. "Go on ahead, Luce, I'll catch up," she nodded and started to walk away. So did everyone else but Erza, "They're gone. What's up?"
"Can I borrow those glasses?"
"Why do you need to use them?"
"The glasses can see people's hearts, even with them wearing a coat, I want to see how broken Luce is. All it shows is that she was never hurt. Coated hearts and regular hearts look the same," I confessed. Erza raised a brow. "You do realize that her coat will come off soon? They only last about ten hours, and she has nearly two hours or so left until it wears off," she informed me.
I looked at the time, "So she has til 5:25 pm before the coat is gone?" Erza nodded to confirm. "Alright, thanks. See you!" I waved her goodbye and ran to catch up with Lucy. I eventually found Lucy and took some breaths. "Everything alright?" Lucy asked. "Yup, just catching my breath," I simply replied.
It was a calm, silent walk to her place. "At 5:20, I'll need you to leave because I have some things I would rather do alone," she said. "Sure, while I help with the things now, we could play some games," I suggested. She smiled a little, "Sounds good to me. It's been a while since I've played games with someone."
I grinned. Talking to Lucy made me more comfortable around her. I could tell her anything, and she'll be ok with it. However, I don't think she feels the same way for me, but I'm not her, so I can't tell. "Race you!" She suddenly shouted and bolted down the sidewalk. "You're on!" I chuckled and started running.
I caught up to her and grinned, running faster than her. Lucy scoffed, "I hope you know I'm in track."
"Then why haven't I heard of you?" I joked. She took it seriously and started running faster than before. I tried catching up, but she was too quick. Lucy turned to the next corner but stopped to look back at me. She sure is cocky.
Once I got near enough to her, she still stood still. I stopped and then became confused. We had stopped at a gate with a tiny keypad, and she pushed a button and spoke, "I'm home. Please open the gates." And so, the gates opened.
I was flabbergasted to see that Luce lived in a mansion. Not too big, not too small, just right for her. "Don't judge or anything, ok?" I looked at her, slowly nodding, and it eased her a little, but she was still tense. We walked to the house, and the door slowly opened, revealing a petite girl. "Lucy!" the girl shouted.
"Hi Wendy, what are you doing out of school early?" Lucy asked Wendy. "You remember our deal?" She smirked. Lucy chuckled, "I remember. Any homework?" They kept going back a forth like I wasn't there until Wendy noticed me. "Who's he?" She pointed out. "Oh, him, he's just a friend. He's over to help me with some stuff, and then we can play games together," Lucy chirped.
Wendy smiled and jumped up and down, "It's been so long since we've played a game! I'm ready!" Wendy cheered. "I'm sure you are. Let me see if I have any homework I need to do. Then I'll have Rose make dinner, then we can play some games. Only til 5:20 pm, ok?" Lucy stated. Wendy frowned a little but then quickly smiled again. "Sounds good!"
We went inside, and the home was lovely and beautiful. Nothing seemed out of place. "Any homework?" Lucy asked. I didn't want to do mine just so we could hang out longer and have fun. "Nope, none for me," I lied. She seemed to notice and raised a brow, then looked at Wendy. "Any homework for you?"
Wendy looked at me and then back at Lucy. "I don't have any!" Wendy answered. "Well, what are we waiting for? Let's play some games!" I shouted. They giggled and ran somewhere, which I'm assuming is the living room. I followed not too far from them. When I reached the room, I was greeted by the great shelf of CDs and a large TV sitting around an oversized couch.
"Is this heaven?" I muttered. Lucy laughed, "Guess this is a dream to most guys. We may be girls, but we love video games," She stated. "Except you're too deep into them," Wendy added. "Hey!" Lucy bickered. I chuckled, "Nothing wrong with that."
We all sat on the couch with Lucy in the middle. "Any starters we should do?" Lucy asked. "Super Smash bros!" Wendy said with excitement. I agreed, and then Lucy got up to put on the game

Game after game, it was very close to 5:20 pm. I hope to keep Lucy more occupied, so I can see her without a coat. We finished another battle, laughter throughout the living room. Out of nowhere, the sound of an phone alarm went off. Lucy grabbed her phone and turned the alarm off. She then looked and me with a small frown, "Well, it's about you start heading home Natsu." She told me. "But Lucy!" Wendy cried. “I know but you know why, we have things to do,” She retorted. I was so close to seeing Lucy’s heart, I want to know how hurt she was. I want to comfort whenever she needs it, I want fix her so she doesn’t have to hide. I frowned from my thoughts, making Lucy give concern. “Are you alright, Natsu?” She asked me.
I left my thoughts and quickly smiled at her. “Yeah, I’m fine. I was just thinking and then how I have to leave so soon,” I assured, though I wanted her to let me stay. Her mouth bent down, her eyes filled with pity. “I’m sorry. How about you come over tomorrow around, let’s say, two hours after noon?” She chirped, trying to cheer the three of us.
I smiled lightly, as did Wendy too. "Sounds good to me!" Wendy and I said in unison. We both looked at each other and laughed. Soon after we calmed down, I noticed that I was already at the front door. Lucy must've made me slowly walk to the door unconsciously. 'Sneaky little,' I thought to myself.
Wendy opened the door and waved her goodbye, while Lucy gently nudged me out. I could tell her coat was fading but I was already out of the house and the door shut. I was close, but she managed to keep me from seeing.
I feel betrayed, even though I shouldn't. I've just met her yet I already feel hurt. I slowly walked to the gate and look up to open it carefully. I left, and closed the gate behind me.
I felt bummed out, I wanted to find out what she was going through, how I could help her in some way. But I should respect her, let her take her time to open up to me. I'll just head home for the day and hang out with her tomorrow.
