A Different Kind of Brotherly Love

Chapter 1

The door of the house flew open. Stood tall man with dark brown hair and a little chubby. When he saw us he instantly smiled.

"Misty! I'm so glad to have the two of you here!" He said ecstatically.

"I missed you Jeff!" My mother said as hugging him.

"Hello Brynn it's nice to meet you! Your mother has told me great things about you." He says proudly.

"Yeah, nice to meet you too Jeff." I say

"Well, come in and I will introduce you to my kids." He says.

We follow him into the rather large house with two stories, as walk in to find the door opens to the living room.

There was a couch and a rocking chair. Two rather young people sat on the couch as the girl stood up fastly as she saw us walk in and had a huge smile on her face. The other person was a boy who stayed in his spot slouched as he continued staring at the screen.

"Hi I'm GiGi." The girl said shaking mine and my mothers hand. GiGi had soft blond curly hair and she was very pretty.

The boy instantly stood up as it was a commercial looked over at us and said "Cadence," while shaking my mothers hand. When he got to me he stuck out his hand for me to shake it, so I reached and right when I almost touched his hand he yanked it away" to slow," he said.

"Cade." His dad said sternly,but he just shook it off.

"Well it was great to meet you two, but I have some collage applications I need to finish filling out, but I will see you around the house." GiGi said with enthusiasm. She was the preppy type, which got annoying but I will learn to live with it.

My mother nodded to her then she ran up stairs to her bedroom.

"Cade, do you want to show Bryn her room?" Jeff asked.

Cadence just shrugged and started walking up the stairs.

"Follow me." He said and I did, but why did he have to show me? I can already tell I'm not going to like him.

We walk down the hall of the second floor to the last door.

"This is your room," he says pushing the door open allowing me to step in.

It was a dark red color with a soft lit lamp on the side table of the bed which was full sized and had a light pink comforter against the right wall.

On the back wall in the left corner was a door and in the right corner of the back wall was a medium sized walk-in- closet.

"GiGi's room is on the other side of the stair case and mine is just next door if you need anything," he said with his hand in his jean pockets leaning against the door.

He started to make his way to the door in the left corner. He pushed it open.

"This is the bathroom, it's connected to my room so we will have to share." He said.

"Thanks." I say taking a look in the bathroom. It has a large counter top with two sinks. He then opens the other door in the bathroom that opens to his room.

"I'll be in my room if you need anything," he says closing the door behind him.

I walk out of the bathroom and pick up my bag that I had left at the door and lay it on my bed. I pick out a pair of jogging shorts and a tank top to put on.

After I'm dressed I put my hair in a messy bun leaving a few of my dark brown curly strands of hair down.

I walk Down stairs to find my mom sitting at the kitchen table with Jeff looking in a photo album that looks to have old pictures of GiGi and Cade in it.

"Oh! He looks so cute!" My mom shouts pointing at a picture of Cade."he looks a lot like you ya know" she adds.

She then sees me at the door way.

"Hey honey. Do you like your room?" She asks.

"Yeah it's great." I say which was actually true.

"That's good, when are you going to bed?" She asks.

"I guess now, I'm pretty tired." I say

"Ok, good night then," she says as I walk out and make my way to my room.

When I close the door and get under the sheets of my new bed I drift off to sleep.
