BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP
My alarm clock screamed. 5:00 am.
I was not a morning person.
I put my uniform on and I looked in the mirror.
I liked my figure. Even though I wasn't model material or whatever, I was human looking. What can I say to that?
Reality came crashing down as I realized my brother was gone, his flight was 3 am... I went downstairs looking for Francine.
Instead, I found a note on the counter.
"I didn't want to wake you, since I know you're going to school. I just want to say don't let ANYTHING get in your way, you're a strong young woman who has seen too much for her age. I'll be able to text you here and there, but not when I'm with the kings and queens of course. I'll FaceTime you whenever we get the chance, to catch up.
I'll miss you little sis, be good and be safe. I love you
-Justin"
I heard Francine step into the door, looking like she had been crying for days.
We smiled at each other both knowing it was a bittersweet day.
But that means that today, I go home with my dance teacher. Talk about AWKWARD!
-----
"Ruth Anderson ?"
"Here!"
"Teresa Boll?"
"Present!"
It was the beginning of a new semester, so the teachers had to roll call in case there were new students. I was in 1st period, Pre Calculus. What a great way to start the day right?
Well I had all my general education classes in the beginning of the day. Towards the end I had all my fun classes.
"Isabel Lonatzi?"
"Here!"
I heard my best friend claim.
Yay ! She was finally in one of my general ed classes. Before it was just dance. Ugh don't remind me.
"Tiffany Phillips?"
"Here," I smiled.
"And Luke Trent?"
"Here," I heard the shyness in his voice as he said it. It's the guy I met from the mall.
I would've never thought he was still in school, he looked more mature.
The rest of the class went by and the bell finally dismissed us.
I gave Isabel the hold-on look and went up to Luke.
"Hey, welcome to the Academy," I smiled.
"Oh hey! I'm glad you're in that class. I have trouble with math actually, so maybe you could tutor me sometime?" He looked at the floor. He was too cute for his own good.
"Yeah, did you get today's lesson?"
"No..." He looked into my eyes. Every time he does that I catch my breath.
"Well, how about you come to my house today after school?" I asked.
"Okay, I'll ask my mom first," he said. Aw, how cute!
"Okay, and if so, text me and I'll text you my address !" We acknowledged it and went our separate ways.
"You go girl ! I can't remember the last time you had a boyfriend!" She squealed.
