Adeline Carlton. Daughter of Aurora and Abraham Carlton. Sister of Adonis Carlton. Princess and next in line for Queen of Azalea Ark, a royalty town known for its gorgeous azaleas. Adeline had a seemingly perfect life. She would get everything she could possibly ask for. If she wanted something imported from a city all the way across town, she could have it. If she wanted someone in the town exiled, she could have it. Despite all that, Adeline was loved by many. She was a kind princess, just like her mother. The people in the town couldn't help but be relieved that their royal family was nothing but kind and selfless.
Like always, Adeline was walking through the royal garden, which was a rainbow of azaleas. As she was walking, she was picking for her favorite color, purple. She loved the floral smell that would always be better than any perfume she could have. The azalea bushes were always perfection. Many different gardeners would treat them and they all have exceptional knowledge of the flowers. She knew she had to get back to the castle soon. Adeline was due in the dining hall in an hour for a dinner with a potential suitor for her. She uses this garden to get away from royal life because, despite how amazing it may seem on the outside, she never enjoyed it. She has to marry someone certain. Someone who would be the best fit for a king. Someone that she might not even love, but that didn't quite matter. Love never mattered when it comes to marriages in royal families. He had to be wealthy. He had to be a good king. It didn't matter if he was kind, loving, or respectable. The most heartbreaking part for Adeline was that he always had to be a man. Two queens just didn't make a good fit, according to her father. She's never brought up the idea to her parents, but she didn't need to do that to understand their viewpoints on it.
As she was stuck in her own land, she heard rustling in the bushes. "Who's there," She questioned. "Hello?"
A young girl, about her age, popped out of the bushes. Adeline didn't recognize her at all, meaning she wasn't from this kingdom. "Hello. Apologies, I got lost.." She muttered.
"Lost? How could you get lost and end up in the royal garden?" Adeline questioned and the girl's eyes lit up in shock.
"Oh! I wasn't aware I was in the garden." She claimed and Adeline smiled slightly. The girl was cute and Adeline couldn't help but see it. She had big, bright eyes and rosy lips. She scanned the girl's face and the girl blushed in embarrassment.
"Uhm, I don't quite know how to get out of here." The girl looked around and without hesitation, Adeline offered to show her out. The girl smiles slightly and nods.
Adeline led the girl to the gates of the castle's walls, trying not to be caught by anybody. It would automatically be suspicious if she was caught leading a peasant girl out of the royal castle. Garden Girl turned around before leaving and gave Adeline a warm smile. Adeline immediately got butterflies. She couldn't quite tell what this feeling was. She couldn't tell if she wanted to be friends with this girl or something more. However, she was ripped from her thoughts by her brother calling out to her.
"Adeline!" Adonis ran up, "Adeline, Sir Fucksalot is here." He smiled.
"I don't find you funny, Addy." Adeline smiled at the fond nickname she's given him. They both call each other Addy or Ade as a joke. "His name is Theodore. His sexual relationships do not change that."
"Oh please, Ade. You know you call him that too."
"Adonis, I don't use such language!" Adeline giggled at her own fake posh accent. Adonis wrapped his arm around her shoulders and leaned over because he was slightly taller than her. Adeline gazed at him and was reminded of her likeness to him. They both have curled, sandy hair with deep green eyes. Some people wished to have their beauty and they were both glad to have it. Despite being younger by a year, Adonis was still taller than Adeline meaning she had to look up to him. They were very close to each other and were each other's best friends.
