As a reader, you must be wondering, "why was that last line included in the chapter before? It makes no sense." Well, last chapter, and all the chapters before, were just to catch you up on what's going on right now, so you won't be confused.

But of course, that's how it is in every story. You read so that you can build up to the climax. You read so that you can find out what's going to happen, do you not?

No matter what you read, and how you read it, though, you're bound to be fairly confused if you'd just so happened to jump to this chapter without reading the ones before.

But nevermind me droning on, let's get to the story, shall we?

~

he never thought she would have done this.

Odetta Lynch was now dating James Potter.

Atleast that's what their peers thought, of course. Not even their own friends knew that they were doing this for a plan.

But reader, you must be thinking "but didn't she say no in the chapter previous?"

She did, infact, say no in the chapter previous. But due to the events that have taken place in the past week, she decided to take him up on his offer.

On Monday, a day after everyone had gotten back, someone pulled a prank on her by causing a bunch of snakes to fly at her. She angrily stomped over to the marauders, who'd been nearby when it happened, and began furiously asking who did it.

All of them had confused looks on their faces, wondering as to who pulled the prank. Even Remus didn't know, and he would never lie to Odetta.

On Tuesday, Evan started becoming more distant. He wasn't at meals, didn't speak to her in class, and avoided her entirely. Maybe it was because of where she went for Christmas.

This went on for 3 more days, before out of the blue, Evan owled her, asking her if she wanted to go on a date with him by the black lake later that day. Of course, she replied yes, eager to be able to talk to him about his behavior for the past few days.

When she arrived, though, she noticed some other Slytherins standing around, watching her. Though, she thought nothing of it because it was a common area.

She and Evan we're sitting along the edge of the lake, having a picnic and talking and laughing. She didn't want to bring up his behavior, but she wondered what she did wrong. At this point, she actually did like him. A lot.

Though her feelings were never really displayed on her face, or in these words, no words could explain what she felt for him. She basically worshipped the air he breathed.

It was when he said that she had a bit of chocolate on her face, and went to "wipe it off", did he push her in the lake.

Yes, just like that. He shoved her into the lake at full force.

Odetta, having not expected this, struggled for quite a bit, attempting to kick off her shoes that were weighing her down. It was not a pretty sight to see.

After finally kicking her shoes off, she swam slowly, but surely to another side.

Having never learned how to swim, she felt really glad that she didn't drown, or worse.. get expelled. Students weren't really allowed to be in the black lake by themselves without a professor nearby.

At this point, Evan, and all the other Slytherins that had shown up, we're laughing at her. She had makeup running down her face, along with her tears. She attempted, helplessly, to wipe the makeup off of her face with the sides of her hands but it wasn't working.

She felt completely and utterly embarrassed.

Although being laughed, and chanted at, she never looked back once at the crowd. She was afraid that if she did, she would just stop and sob.

So she trudged her way into the castle, leaving wet footprints along the clean, marble floor, while her hair dripped down her back, her makeup dripped down her face. It was truly a sight you didn't want to see.

She trudged her way all the way up to the boys dorm, which they had been in, much to her jubilance.

They all gave her concerned looks, wondering as to why she was dripping everything you could name on their bedroom floor.

"Potter," She begun, just about glaring at him, "A word?"

..

And that's how their newfound "relationship" came to be.

All their friends were happy for them, and Lily didn't seem to be any more envious of Odetta than she was before.

One person, or rather quite a few, definitely had their opinions on their relationship.

Anytime she passed a Slytherin, they sneered and scoffed in their face, some even daring to make unfunny comments thinking they were actually doing something. To which usually resulted in a hex.

She might have highly embarrassed herself on the day of their breakup, but Odetta Lynch was not going to take shit from anybody.

So she didn't.

Anyone who dared sneer, scoff, spit, cackle, glare, or give the wrong look in her direction, always ended up with some semi-permanent hex placed upon them.

So that taught people to not mess with her.

James even had to fight quite a few boys for her, but it was mainly the girls that were the problem. At that point, James was ready to polyjuice into another girl, and fight the girls who even thought they could have the chance to mess with Odetta.

One might say he was merely protecting her only for the act.

You, reader, may think that as well. And believe what you want, but I think someone has a crush. I mean honestly, what normal boy is willing to turn into a girl to fight another for his fake girlfriend?

Seems like a crush to me..
