  Growing up as royalty was certainly over-romanticized in the media. It fails to mention the struggles of having so much pressure on you since your birth, or put in the spotlight and your every move being judged as if you are some artifact that belongs in a museum. Astrid, the princess of Sweden was the youngest child with two older brothers. She was taken as a prime example to why the King and Queen should have stopped after her second oldest brother, Whilem. 
Speaking of Whilem, he was the reason why Astrid was even at Hillerska in the first place. An elite boarding school for modern royalty. Even Astrid was surprised that it was her brother who bruised the family reputation, not her. 
To appease herself while she attended Hillerska, (aka what was the most boring place on the planet) she began a bet with the smartest boy in class. Their stupid little bets would be the start of them, but would ironically lead to their destruction.
