Early November 2022:

I mean, no one would've guessed that three drunken boys would be sitting in front of a large screen monitor, all huddled, reading the one single thing their little fandom is thirsting over. Yet here we are. Dream, George, and Sapnap. Clay, George, and Nick. Debating if they should be live while reading a grody fanfiction about two of them.

"Look, if this goes south and says something Twitch wouldn't let us say, maybe y'know, we shouldn't be live," George argued. He was the one to convince them all to be reading it in the first place. They're all hoping as shit that won't backfire.

"But is Twitch gonna guess," Sapnap slurred, "That we're drunk? Or that they care?" he said inconsistently.

"Jesus Christ if you keep talking like that, yeah." breathed Dream. He was a quiet drunk, trying to watch his words.

Drunk thoughts are sober feelings.

"Let's just record it. That way if it's funny, we can post it. If it's not, we delete it." Dream said finally. They all nodded in agreement.

"Chapter One: Moon Jelly"

"A gentle glow from the computer screen washes over the dark desk, colors flickering in rapid motion."

Dream smiles, 'it's nice that our fans write this for us.'

They begin reading, pausing at some parts when Dream reads too quickly and forgets what this all is about, or when George is too slow of a reader and begins getting flamed by the two.

George glared, Dream stared. This has happened. They both understand why this stupid fanfiction was so popular.

"OMG!! It's like it's predicting it!" says one.

"DNF4LIFE!!!!" says another.

They read the line about Dream "needing to mute" that 'Sapnap' had said. They all laugh. It's true. He would joke like that when this was made.

They see the Glass Animal line.

"Might as well turn it on?" Sapnap jokes.

"Yeah. Okay." Dream thinks. He opens Spotify and turns on the song, accidentally turning on the stripped-back version. But it feels nicer. Like it belongs more.

Dream catches George's eye and smiles. He'd only just come to Florida a few weeks ago. Sapnap and George had only read three chapters oh so long ago. They all keep reading until Sapnap comments, "Oh yeah, George it's true. Florida weather is 100% like this."

"You know what else is 100% like this? The tension, Jesus Christ." Dream smiles. George nods aggressively.

"I don't like how the fanfiction creators paint me as so passive though. I guess this one is better but the like.. kitten ones or whatever," he complains.

"Cat George? Dream? You into that?" Sapnap giggles and lets out a joking moan. Dream wheezes. George lets out an exclaim.

"Ew Sapnap! That's disgusting." George remarks, his accent heavy, "Yeah Sapnap. That's gross." I mock.

Dream sat though, zoned out. It was weird. Dream had these nightmares. Mainly after his girlfriend broke up with him. Then later when he was getting attacked over his lore character.

Don't read into it, Dream. It's probably nothing. And it was. It wasn't probably. It was nothing. Dream, are you really arguing with your thoughts?

"Oh shit, Dream's already kinning his character." We all laugh.

"My bad."

CHAPTER TWO: CHECKMATE

hi !!! this isn't done but this is all the update you'll get for now :) obviously I missed some major key points so I'll have to re-read heatwaves and update as I go. Maybe multiperspective soon? I know he wouldn't be crazy and shit but I'm still writing and I assure you dream doesn't lose his shit in all of it lmfao. but yk me and him share an adhd brain and I live for the drama. Okay that's it bye :)

(also for personal reasons the colab will not be coming out, sorry if you were excited :/)
