The day he left was marked in the calendar on your phone. He had been gone for 547 days, just one day short of 18 months. He would return tomorrow after finally finishing his mandatory military service.
When he told you it was his time to serve, he was so proud to be able to serve his country. To support it in such a way, and of course, you were proud of him too. But the hardships were something you weren't looking forward to back then, and you're glad there are less than 24 hours left of those same hardships.
People tend to think the hardest thing to do when their partner leaves to serve their country, is loving them. But it's the easiest thing to love someone, especially when they're doing something they want to do.
The hard part is missing them, having limited contact throughout those 18 months and not being able to see each other.
You love Jin with all of your parts and you've got a special day planned for him. You hope he's not too exhausted when he returns, you hope he won't collapse on the couch in your living room the second he gets home. You hope he's happy to hold you again and happy to be able to spend some time with you.
The last 547 days have been hard but manageable. And after going through this together, you're sure there is nothing that could break you apart. If anything, this has made you love him even more than you did before! No matter how impossible that sounds, even to your own ears.
You've got a welcome home party planned for him and his six friends. All the girlfriends got together and invited friends and family to celebrate their safe return. And once the party is finished, you'll take him back to your bedroom where you'll spend the entire night cuddling, catching up, and just simply being together. Just the two of you.
You can't wait!
18 months... a year and a half of minimum contact, barely if ever seeing each other and now he's about to return within 24 hours. Back in your arms, back in your apartment, back within your reach, and back with daily contact. Hell... even your insides were doing a happy dance at the idea of him returning. Your walls clenching around nothing, your underwear slowly becoming wetter while you think about everything he might do to you after the party is finished. You just hope he's got enough energy for that.
Planning this welcome party has taken your mind off of his absence for the last couple of weeks, and also made the time fly by. Because you started planning about a month ago, you rallied all the girlfriends and mentioned how it was just one more month before all your guys would be returning and if they were up to planning a welcome home party. When all the girls expressed their excitement about that idea, you guys immediately started planning.
