“Vinny?” he asked timidly.

“Yes, Garmadon?” he responded, looking up from his book from the other side of the couch.

“How do you tell the difference between romantic feelings, or just friendship?”

“Oh, uh…” Garmadon leaned forward as Vinny struggled.

“That’s a tricky question,” he explained. “If you’re just friends, you care about them and help them. You’re there for them all the time, whenever they need you.” Garmadon hummed. “Deeper feelings for someone might be like that, except you maybe want to kiss them, you feel nervous around them at first, and you just… really want them to be happy. A lot. And you want to grow old together maybe?” he offered.

“Hmmm…” he scratched his chin.

“Have you found someone like that?” Vinny asked, shoulders stiffening.

“I’ve been doing a bit of research but I needed to know for sure. And you always told me to ask you for help, or if I had a question,” he elaborated, scooting closer to Vinny.

“Yes, good job. I uh,” he glanced down at his lap. “I’m so proud of you, Garmadon,” he beamed, the glimmer in his eyes bittersweet. Garmadon smiled, heart fluttering in a familiar way.

“Yes, thank you.” He gently placed one of his hands on Vinny’s, basking in his achievement. “Is something wrong?” he asked when he glanced down at Vinny.

“No, it’s okay. I’ll… I’ll tell you about it later,” he sniffled. “You should find them, tell them how you feel. If you want,” he continued. “Because believe it or not, you’re one of the best people I’ve ever known.” He smiled sadly and headed towards his room, his hand slipping away from Garmadon’s. Garmadon’s jaw dropped at the confession, cheeks heating up.

I’m a good person?

And well. Vinny did tell him he could confess.

“Vinny? I have something for you,” he said in front of Vinny’s bedroom door.

“Oh, you’re back. How was day seven of rebuilding?” he asked, opening the door and putting his hat back onto his messy brown hair.

“It was… fine. But, I got this for you,” he sputtered, quickly handing Vinny a pot with a daffodil sprout. “I got you a plant, since you gave me Christofern and he’s living on a mountain now. It’s a thank you, for everything.” He felt the urge to caress Vinny’s cheek, eyes widening as he realized his thoughts. In a stroke of boldness, he raised two of his hands to cup Vinny’s face. “Thank you, Vinny,” he rumbled softly, thumbs running up and down his cheeks slowly. Vinny leaned forward, eyes shutting contently. He showed a small sweet smile, nodding. “You make life worth living,” he whispered, placing his unoccupied hands on Vinny’s waist. He basically melted, stepping forward into Garmadon’s arms and pulling him close.

“I have reason to believe that I’m in love with you, and you don’t have to feel the same way, but you always encourage me to be open with my emotions, so-”

“Shhh, I love you too.” He placed a quick gentle kiss on his lips, only for Garmadon to pull him back in with his brows furrowed in concentration. He kept Vinny nearly glued to the spot, kissing him with as much love as he could muster.
