Dear @VampiricalVibes,
Thanks for the letter! All great questions and I'm happy to answer them! First I'd like to say that I'm glad people believe I'm always positive in dire situations. But if I'm honest there are a lot of times where I feel pretty helpless. I've had to go up against huge monsters, deceiving people, and even lost people I care about. It's really hard to stay positive when the world is literally up in flames around you. It leave me feeling overwhelmed and like it's just no use in trying!
That being said I do have things that keep me going even in the darkest times. When I feel like I just can't go anymore I have friends from the past, various futures, and even the memories of those that are no longer around. They offer kind words, motivation, even help pull me back up to my feet, and some tough love never hurt for too long. Future is a double edge sword. It's empowering to know that the future you want to have can be possible if you set the right things in motion. Your future is just that; YOURS. You get to make it. At the same time knowing that can be scary and leave you feeling like you carry a huge weight and responsibility. Questioning your every step. And sometimes people take advantage of that fear or ignorance of what to do and try to make your future for you.
I'm aware not everyone can time travel to pin point what events set off the apocalyptic dystopian future that may await. I should consider myself lucky to have the ability. Still the future is always changing; that is if you're putting the effort into changing it. It's important to have people you can depend on to shine a light when you lose sight of what you've been working for. There will be days where all there is to do is curl up in a ball and wait. But never stop moving. If I were to set aside my constant anxiety of what the future holds- or be assured that there will be a future to have and stay in the present times I think I'd enjoy the moment. Even if they were slow or boring. I'd try things I thought I didn't have time for. I'd talk to people I thought were cool and get to know the people who would help shape the future I'd live in. I wouldn't tread so carefully to where I miss out on life.
Have a good present and look forward to the future!
