After Rosé's indistinct warning, Mingyu said he needed to find S.Coups. However, before he left, Mingyu found Jeonghan flirting with a bartender. He told me to stay with him until I found someone else to stay with or he returned.
I wasn't fond of staying with Jeonghan as he doesn't particularly seem to like me. I can't blame him for that, but I would still rather stay with someone else.
So far, Jeonghan seems to be trying to ignore me. I had taken a seat beside him, and he barely gave me a glance before going back to flirting.
As a waiter, I've seen plenty of poor excuses for flirting, many of which just being plain creepy, but there's a way Jeonghan does it that works almost perfectly. It's clear the bartender thinks the same.
After several minutes of watching their continued playful flirting, the bartender hands Jeonghan a piece of paper. "I get off at two." She winks at him and walks away to continue working.
Once they're gone, Jeonghan looks at me with a sideways glance as if he's just checking I haven't run off. Although even if I had, I'm not sure if he would care.
"So, what made Mingyu leave in such a rush?" He doesn't sound too curious or even like he cares; instead, he just wants to pass the time.
"Something about Rosé talking to him." I shrug. Surely Jeonghan knew why that made Mingyu so uneasy, so I feel no reason to go into detail.
Jeonghan's eyes raise, and suddenly he's interested. "Are you sure it was Rosé?" He questions me.
I restrain from rolling my eyes. He has fair enough reason to question me. "Yes," I try to hide the bitterness in my voice, but it doesn't work. "Mingyu even confirmed it," I add, feeling like he still doesn't trust me.
"Hmm," he hums but doesn't say anything after, and we're again in silence.
Being bored and having nothing to do, I order a drink. But I stay true to not drinking alcohol and instead order an expresso.
I spin on the barstool chair and tilt my head to look at the sky. Faint dark clouds had made their way into the sky, barely noticeable except when blocking the unusually bright moon.
It doesn't take long for Jeonghan to also spin his chair while elegantly sipping from a beer bottle. "You know, you and your friend really messed us up a lot." His voice almost sounds distant, like he's just thinking out loud and not paying attention to what's happening around him. "You brought us more unnecessary rivalry with Monsta X. Right before the most important races of the year," He sarcastically chuckles.
I find it difficult to not stand up and leave. I probably would if I wasn't scared of Monsta X, TXT, or anyone else who might decide to take up similar intentions. Instead, I bite my tongue to not spit back about how neither me nor Jisoo wanted this.
"And for what? It's not like you guys are even useful to the group." Jeonghan slumps against the edge of the bar, and I begin to wonder if he's drunk. "Can't believe Mingyu and DK were that foolish," he mumbles, and it seems like he's finally over his rant.
But of course, I'm wrong. Apparently, drunk Jeonghan has a lot of words. "You know, I wouldn't be surprised if whatever Rosé warned Mingyu of had something to do with you." He sticks a finger at me, and it takes every fiber in me to not lash out.
"Jeonghan, stop." Mingyu suddenly reappears. "Don't give her a hard time over something she couldn't control." There's a strange calm anger in Mingyu's voice.
Jeonghan side-eyes Mingyu and shrugs. "I should be scolding you, but you have enough to worry about." He stands up and finishes the beer, before checking his watch. "I should go, I'm meeting up with someone."
