Aether is a student attending an academy for the
greatest minds, He got in through a scholarship unlike the other students who all came from rich families.
There is a certain person who didn't necessarily take a liking to Aether, His name is Xiao, Similar to Aether he got into the academy through a scholarship too.
Unlike Xiao, Aether took a liking to him and soon enough he realized that it was more than happiness that there was someone who was like him, He had a crush on him and this was not just the beginning of it it started to become a problem, For example he would stare at Xiao from a distance but because of that his grades started dropping from not paying attention in class.
The more the affection grew the more he started underperforming, Soon enough there was a high possibility that his scholarship would be taken away.
One day Aether was invited to a party for one of the seniors, He found out Xiao was going to be there so he immediately accepted the invite.

At the party
Aether couldn't stop staring a Xiao, it made him feel uncomfortable, He decided to go on the balcony for some air.
Aether saw him leave and he followed.

On the balcony
Xiao saw him and thought that he was weird at first for always looking at him but now he started following him he scoffed. He decided to talk to him because it was better than being inside and socializing.
Aether walked up to Xiao and just stood there in silence, Soon enough Xiao broke the silence.
"H-Hey" he stuttered forgetting how to socialize all of a sudden.
Aether giggled "What cat got your tongue?" trying to act cool.
Xiaos face turned bright red all of a sudden.
Aether started laughing "Sorry for teasing you" he responded with.
Xiao couldn't keep his eyes of Aether at that moment, It was something about his smile that made him blush.
Aether: "So why did you come out on the balcony?" Aether said Hoping to actually talk to him.
Xiao: "Nothing I just needed some air, it's all stuffy in there." He replied with
Aether: "Why do I feel like you're lying to me?"
Aether had a feeling Xiao was lying to him.
Xiao: "how the fuck am I supposed to know what you're thinking? It's not like I can read minds"
Aether: "I apologize it's fine if you don't want to tell me" Aether realized he had started to annoyed Xiao.
Xiao: "I-I h" Xiao felt bad for what he just said to him, He felt like he should tell I'm the real reason he was on the balcony.
Aether: "It's fine you don't have to tell me." He responded with not wanting to annoy him anymore, he started to walk away, but then felt a slight tug from his shirt.
Aether: "Hmm?" Aether looked back to see that Xiao was the one who pulled his sleeve.
Xiao: "I don't like to socialize much" As he said that his face turned red.
Aether: "Really?" Aether asked in confusion
Xiao: "Why do you sound so surprised?" He asked.
Xiao: "Not everyone is perfect."
Aether: "I just never thought you didn't like to socialize, I mean you go to every party you're invited to and leave a great impression."
Xiao: "That's because I learned how to socialize, I just don't like it." He didn't hesitate to answer the question.
Aether: "If you don't like to socialize then why did you go to all the party's?" Aether wanted to know everything about the person he liked and this seemed like an opportunity.
Xiao: "I just want to make a good impression and not have any trouble." At this point Xiao didn't know why he was still spilling his guts."
Aether: "But still you should do what you like." Aether asked this genuinely concerned.
Xiao: "Why do you care?" Xiao wants to know why he's being nice, Everyone before who was nice to him always had ulterior motives.
Aether: "Am I not allowed to be concerned for you?" He asked
Xiao: "What?" He was surprised but then thought that he was lying.
Aether: "What do you mean "What?" I genuinely care, it's your choice to decide weather or not I'm telling the truth." Aether was kind of sad Xiao thought he was lying.
Xiao: "Really?" Xiao made up his mind that he should trust him, it was a gut instinct.
Aether: "I'm glad you chose to trust me Xiao"
Aether smiled brightly.
Xiao: "This isn't permanent though" Xiao went back to his cold self but his face was bright red at the same time.
Aether: "I get it." Aether knew what Xiao meant.
Xiao: "Oh right can I get your number." Xiao asked this casually not realizing what it meant.
Aether: "W-What?" Aether started blushing
Xiao: "Well you're the first person I've opened up to in a while so I was hoping to keep in contact."
Aether: "R-Right, right" Aether was kind of disappointed but happy he could actually talk to him and end up being his friend.
Aether: "So friends?" He asked expectingly.
Xiao: "Friends" he said accepting his offer without any hesitation with a genuine smile on his face.
Aether: "Se you later I guess." He said awkwardly. His face was tomato red.
