The Kart Fic

Part 1

"Hey Dan, get in here!" Phil shouts cascaded through the apartment.
He heard footsteps on the floor.
" Whats up?" Dan suddenly appeared at Phils door.
" I've got a great idea for a new video" Phil squealed enthusiastically
"Is it by any chance Mario Kart 8?" Dan said with his cheeky smirk.
" Yes! How did you know?"
" Phil, I had the same idea, and to make it even better let's make it a Dan vs Phil, besides Ive been waiting to crush you at Mario Kart"
"Yeah that sounds go- wait a minute!" Phils voice was getting louder and he couldn't hide the excitement in his voice.
"Umm when should we film it?"
"What about tomorrow? It's getting pretty late and I need to waste my life browsing Tumblr" Dan says, his voice trailing off as he exits the room. Phil only just manages to wish him a good night before he's fully gone. For the rest of the night Phil practiced for the new video and Dan did exactly what he said, he wasted his life on Tumblr until 3am. Until he heard a scream. He acted on instinct and ran into the living room. Phil was sat upright as pale as a ghost. Dans worry grew massively.
"Are you Okay, Phil!"
" I-I had a nightmare, I fell asleep playing Mario Kart, I- I lost you"
Phil stuttered.
Dans heart stopped.
" Phil! You will never lose me, I promise, if you ever worry about these things then just come to me. I've been through this. Do you have any idea how many times I've been through this. I am absolutely terrified to lose you, that's why I cherish every moment I have with you"
Dans words warmed Phil's heart immensely and before he knew it he was feeling a million times better. All he wanted to do was lay down on the sofa with Dan. It appeared Dan had the same idea because he flopped down on the sofa and rested his head on Phil's shoulder. Phil wrapped his arm around him and pulled him in tighter. He could feel Dan's warmth soak into his skin. Everything was perfect. They wouldn't change a thing in the world. Except the fact that they will have to move in a matter of hours to plan their one of a kind video. But they we're living in the moment. They made the most of the time they had alone together. Phil reached for Dan's Hand just as he was drifting to sleep. Dan gave him one last reassuring squeeze before falling asleep completely. The rest of the night continued with Phil admiring Dan silently.
