The Morning Walk

Chapter 5

Taishi POV

It's 3 AM and I couldn't go back to sleep. I am already looking forward to meeting Eloise in the next 2 hours! I like taking morning walks and I am glad we are doing it together. I made a light itinerary for us this morning. To be honest, I could go anywhere with this girl and not care what we do as long as I have her talking with me.

As I am waiting for her at the entrance of the hotel, my phone rang. It's Kenji.

"Moshimoshi, Kenji-chan! Do shita no?"

"Boss called you have to accept the role no matter what."

"I ALREADY told him, I am done working with her."

At this time, I can see Eloise approaching.

"eeto..."

"Let's talk this evening, Baibai."

I hung up.

I could not help but blush upon greeting her! She sure knows how to dress. I did not know she could be any prettier compared to yesterday.

I ordered us some breakfast to-go from the resort's restaurant since there are no open restaurants outside yet. My plan is to just eat near our first stop to save time. An early visit means less probability of a Japanese tourist recognizing me. A dating scandal is the last thing my career needs right now. I also want to fully enjoy my time with Eloise.

We hop on my rented bike and we travel to our breakfast spot. In this moment, riding this bike, the rush makes me feel free. I feel happy. I am forgetting my worries back home in Tokyo.

Eloise POV

Being on a date is the last thing I expected to happen while in this wellness trip in Bali. When Taishi asked me out, the first thought I had was if I have a date outfit packed. The second thought was, going on this date with a hot Japanese guy versus attending my morning yoga class. Any sane girl would choose the former so I did! I put on this Lululemon high-rise shorts, a black Chrome Hearts shirt, my Balenciaga sneakers, and my black Supreme mini backpack. As usual, I did my no-makeup makeup look. I did a glance at my reflection in the mirror and I head out.

When Taishi suggested an early morning walk, I got excited with the idea of exploring a quiet Bali with this charming Japanese guy. Yes, Taishi is the second guy I ever went on dates with! I never had the confidence to go on dates when I was still in school. It may probably be the reason why Mark found me boring and left me for his adventurous neighbor in the States. I felt butterflies in my stomach when Taishi suggested the itinerary as far as suggesting we have breakfast to go and eat at this serene spot. For the first time, I genuinely felt wanted and pursued. When I was still with Zeke, I had to plan everything, and all he did was either pay fully, for half of it or attend the dates I planned. For every birthday and holiday, he would tell me his budget and ask me to find a gift I wanted the most within that range. As an accountant, I thought he was just used to calculating everything but it does not mean the gifts were meaningless. I still think exactly like that but it would have been better if he did not do it that way. Anyways, why I am having these thoughts still?!?

Taishi POV

"How was the ride? Was it comfortable?"

"That was my second-ever motorcycle ride, actually. But it was fun! Thank you for bringing me here."

She bit her lower lip, blushed, and looked down. I blushed as well seeing the usual cute face she makes.
