Liam's P.O.V.
"Liam? Liam, it's time to get up!" I groaned, rolling over in my bed to face away the voice coming into my room. "Liam, you have school today, come on!"
I sighed, glaring over at the doorway to see my mom standing in the doorway, standing there impatiently with a frown on her face, "I'm up, I'm up."
A big grin swept onto her face as she smiled at me, "Good! Because I don't want you to get in trouble for being late on the first day." With a hop in her step, she walked out of my view and I sighed. Yay. A new start. Perfect.
I slowly slid off of my bed and dragged myself to my closet and opened it, revealing my different pairs of clothes. "Goodbye Wolverhampton, hello Doncaster." I said with a sigh, pulling a pair of jeans and a tee-shirt from my closet.
The thing is, we had to move out of our old home in Wolverhampton for a couple reasons. One, my dad got a new job here in Doncaster, helping out with the different companies and everything there. Same with my mom, who got a higher up position at a hospital here that offered her more money. Second, I was bullied. A lot. For a few reasons actually. For being one of the smartest kids in school, being the quiet one and for being gay.
Yes, for something as trivial as that. I know that being gay isn't always socially excepted, but when it gets to the point where they say nasty things, physically abuses you, going online to see hate and hurtful message and even going to the point of having to miss school is where my family crossed the line. They had been trying to find a new job and house and thankfully it brought us here. We set up a new Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts so the bullies had a harder time finding me, which I won't use much and a new number.
But in a way, I'm glad it happened. I didn't want to be in that school for any longer then I needed to be, but the move has it's perks. I have to hide the fact that I'm gay at this new school because I know it will just blow up in my face. Like that'll be easy. I'll just have to find a cozy little corner to hide in until the end of Junior year and then all through Senior year. That should be easy... I hope.
After doing everything I needed to do, I walked down the steps to be greeted by my mother and father. Them and the rest of my family are the only ones who supported me for who I am and for that, I'm grateful.
"Hey honey!" My mom said with a sweet smile, "I made you some toast and jam and I have a small glass of tea with it if you want it."
I gave her a grateful smile and pushed my glasses back properly on the bridge of my nose, "Thanks mom, I appreciate it."
"It's not problem, sweetie," She said, a kind look in her eyes as she drank a bit of her coffee from her mug.
My dad looked up from his paper and gave me a big grin as I sat down, "Hey there, Liam. Ready for a new school? Maybe this one will be different."
I shrugged, "I'm just a bit nervous is all."
"You'll be great, Liam. You're a strong boy, I'm sure you'll be fine." I gave him the same grateful smile as I gave my mom and ate my toast and drank my tea. I'm more worried about the fact that people judge you differently then what it was in Wolverhampton. Sure it's a new town but you never know.
I finished what was left of my toast and drank the remainder of the tea and stood up, grabbing my backpack from the chair. "I gotta go, bye."
As I stepped out of the house, I heard my mom yell out a, "Good luck, Sweetie!" and my dad a "Show 'em what you got, Liam!" I smiled at their enthusiasm and climbed into the car I got a few months ago and took off to the high school, nervous jitters running down my spine as I did so. I don't know whether to be scared or excited but I'm most likely both.
Louis' P.O.V
"Yeah and I knocked the lights out of the kid," I laughed as I told the last of my story, hearing some of my friends laugh along. Harry, the only one of the group who hates violence, looked up at me with a scolding look. I didn't really pay attention to him as we all laughed.
"Holy shit, Lou," Mikey said, catching his breath, "I can't believe you did that."
I raised an eyebrow, a small smirk being pulled onto my face, "Did you expect anything less?"
"No, but I'm just saying," The red haired male said, crossing his arms over his chest.
We were standing outside of the school, ignoring the warning bell alarm the rest of the students to go to their assigned classes. I didn't really care about being late. I always am. So it wouldn't come across as a surprise if I did come in late. It's nothing surprising at this point. All of a sudden, I heard a voice ring out from the doorway.
"Hey! Get to class! For seniors, you all are completely irresponsible." I nearly groaned in annoyance as I heard our principle, Mr. Abbot, yell at us. I never really gave two shits what he thought. He was just another guy who thought he was better then everyone else.
We all grumbled and muttered, making our way into the building until I was stopped by the devil himself, "Except for you, Mr. Tomlinson. I need to speak with you." I heard the guys chuckle and I can hear Ashton yell out a 'Aw shit!' which caused the man to send a sharp glare at the guy. When he turned away from me, I flipped the guys off who just smirked or laughed in response as they walked away.
The walk to the principle's office was always one I took at least once a month. It came as no surprise to see the receptionist give me a 'Really, again?' look before returning to her work. I liked Ms. Tucker, talking to her was always a different experience then the rest of the teachers because once out of ear shot, she would ask for details and would take our side. Well, most of the time.
Once we finally reached his office, he shut the door and looked over at me, "Sit down, Mr. Tomlinson." I sat down, but placed my feet up on his desk which he sighed about, "Mr. Tomlinson, I would appreciate it if you were to take your feet off of my desk." I shrugged in response, which made him a bit annoyed, but he pushed it aside. "There's a new student coming today, his name is Liam Payne and he should be arriving any minute if he hasn't already gotten to class. But because his and your first class is study hall, I want you to show him around the school."
For a few seconds, we remained in silence until I burst out laughing and I saw the man raise an eyebrow, questioning my laughter. "Are you fucking serious? Why would you want me to show him around the school?"
"Language, Mr. Tomlinson," I rolled my eyes but he continued anyways, "And yes, I'm serious. You haven't been doing well all this year, Louis and I know for a fact that you have been ditching detentions half of the time and doing other deplorable things. Liam is a high honors student, one of the smartest in the country. He would be a good influence on you if you don't get to him first. He could help you with your studies."
I chuckled, taking my feet off of the desk and smirking, "What makes you think that I'll pay any attention to him anyways?"
"Because I will have teachers who will bring you to his tutoring sessions. I will not tolerate this anymore, Mr. Tomlinson. You need to be more responsible because you're not going to go anywhere if you continue to be like this. I highly doubt that 20 years from now, you want to be working at a fast food chain as a manager." He stated, leaning back into his chair. I rolled my eyes at him but in a way, he made sense. I just hate to admit it.
Then, a voice interrupted my thoughts that came through his phone speakers, "Mr. Abbot, Mr. Payne is here to see you."
"Please, let him in," I heard the older man say before the door opened behind me. When I turned I saw a guy with brown hair in a bit of a quiff with chocolate brown eyes and a strong jaw line. He looked physically strong, but the small puppy dog look about him said otherwise. He didn't resemble a nerd in any way. Strange. "Welcome to Doncaster High, Liam. I'm Mr. Abbot and this is Louis Tomlinson. Mr. Tomlinson, Liam Payne."
When I met his eyes, I knew something was a bit different about him. I nodded a greeting at him as he gave me a nervous smile and waved, "Hi Louis, my name's Liam."
