{Chapter 33}
After the cookies were finished, the three took them to the living room and ate them while watching television. Jack snuggled up with Melinda making her tense a bit as she didn't expect him to do that, but soon relaxed as she didn't want him to think she didn't want him to do that. Aaron smiled as he watched his son with the woman he was interested in as he was glad to see the two together, seeing as he never got to see them together since the ice cream and park day. While they were watching the TV, Jack ended up falling asleep on Melinda with his head on her lap. She smiled down at the boy and ran her fingers through his hair to make sure he was aware they were still there if he woke up. Aaron stood up and walked over to her as he picked Jack up from her lap.
"I'll take him and put him to bed." Aaron told her
Melinda nodded letting him take his son from her lap. Aaron walked away to take Jack to bed as Melinda thought about what she wanted to say when he comes back. She sighed and rested her arm on the back of the couch and leaned her head on it.
"You alright?"
She looked up to see Aaron walking back over making her nod her head in response. He sat down next to her but a little closer, now that Jack wasn't in the middle, and placed a hand on her knee.
"You can tell me. I'm not going anywhere." Aaron assured
Melinda sighed, "I want to talk about us. We've kissed several times. We've had been very friendly with each other with our teasing and stuff. Everyone knows how close we have gotten."
Aaron knew she was right from the kisses to everyone knowing about them. He bet Strauss even already knew about their closeness and hoped it wasn't going to be an issue. Aaron sighed as he took her hand in his and let all his feelings out.
"I love you, Melinda. I have from the beginning, even when we were arguing. I can't stress enough how much I regretted acting that way towards you and Daisy. I was really upset with myself for acting that way, and I think Dave got tired of me pouting about it." Aaron started
Melinda chuckled as she thought about that happening. She looked at him with intent on listening to what he is telling her.
"When Strauss walked into my office with you and Daisy's files, I knew that she had to have had a plan to get me off the team. However, I was wrong when I met you and Daisy. When I looked at your file, I was blown away by your beauty, and how you were a member of a organization more powerful then the BAU. I feel stupid that I didn't figure out that Daisy was your daughter. It was easy to tell from the start by your appearances and actions. They were always similar in every way." Aaron continued
