Marnie's POV

I fall back into the couch and let sleep consume me. I feel like the past few days have been shit, I don't remember anything though. It just seems like a series of bad memories coming out from the depths of my repression. 

I find myself in Stow-on-side just in front of the stairs. The hot air beating my hair, I see Bea and Alister chatting. 

"Lil' bro, over here, I got something for that one gym challenger."

"Bea, you can't keep obsessing over every female challenger that beats you"

"Alli trust me, this one's different. She has a bright fire lit in those hazel eyes of hers, and her hair is painted with hues of brown I've only seen in my vivid daydreams."

'Why does it sound like she's describing Gloria?'

I look down, and see how I phase through the specks of sand in the air, a transparent hue is all I see beneath me.

"Bea, as much as I love you this is a child we're talking about, she is only fourteen. Your literally twenty one, I doubt the obsession you have with gym challengers is healthy"

"Alli, you worry too much I only wanna have a friendly chat, she was one of the first to challenge my gym after all and she was the first to beat it. Of course I'll have taken some interest in her, I doubt she'd like me out of all people after all she kept droning on about Nessa when first came here."

"Nessa's nineteen Bea it isn't that weird, I'm pretty sure every gym challenger ogles at her at least once"

"Your right about that, I guess I'll wait until the final ceremony to give this to her then."

"You make it sound as if she's absolutely going to be the Champion, maybe she was endorsed by him but she won't necessarily beat him."

"Alli, I'll make a deal with you if she becomes the Champion you'll help me give this to her and maybe become friends, if she doesn't I'll never speak of or to her again."

"Deal."

'I doubt Gloria got anything from Bea, maybe she's talking about someone else?'

 I start to walk away when I hear Obstagoons cry, Piers riding him. I forgot how well he looked before he left. He was so healthy and strong, he had his head on straight, I forgot what happened to him to make him how he is now. 

"Heya there Alister I'm here to pick ya up for training,"

"Piers! Bea here was being weird over gym challengers again."

Alister tackled him with a strong hug and Piers ruffled his hair, I knew that Alister would train with Piers because their types were similar but I didn't think they were this close. Maybe it's because Piers used to work at the orphans home part time. That is where Alister came from after all. 

"Oh, was she now? Which poor soul has she started stalking now."

"Some strong gym challenger who beat her gym, according to her she had hazel eyes with a-"

Bea had her hand gripped over his mouth. 

"Sorry Piers he doesn't know what he's talking about,"

"No, I think I know who your talking about, Gloria her name was?"

'So she was talking about Gloria, now I understand why I always hated Bea'  

Bea pulled a sheepish face and agreed reluctantly.
