The ride back to the studio wasn’t nearly as uncomfortable as before. As usual, we talked, joked, and laugh, but it still did not distract me from the scent of the cigarette that was now on him.

“Danny! Tyler! We’re back!” I yelled walking into the lobby of the studio. I strangely didn’t hear them laughing, yelling at each other, or any of them answer me which was the first. I looked around the reception area, but didn’t see them. I looked at Logan to see if he had any clue where they could be, but as usual he was oblivious.

I walked to the room where I was recording earlier leaving Logan behind in the entrance hall. Once I walked in, I notice a note that had my name on it. I picked it up and noticed the extremely sloppy handwriting on it.

Ugh Danny, you seriously need to work on that. You write like a second grader.

I rolled my eyes and read the note:

Jess,

Me and Tyler had to leave to do something important. Just… don’t worry about it, I’ll tell you when we get back. And don’t be mad, but I accidentally spilled coconut juice on your tape that you recorded earlier so you need to record it again and it needs to be done when you get back. Just ask Logan to set everything up and record it. Sorry… see you tomorrow. Bye ☺

I rolled my eyes at the note. Only Danny would spill coconut juice… why was he drinking coconut juice anyway? I’m not going to even ask, but this was starting to piss me off. I didn’t want to record the song again, but thanks to Danny I do.

“Did you find them?” I jumped as Logan came through the door.

“Um, yeah. They had to leave to go do something. And the dumbass Danny spilled coconut juice on my tape so I need to record it again, and they want you to help me.” I shrugged.

“Why was he drinking coconut juice?”

“I have no idea, but can we get started on it? I want to finish this early.”

“Sure, just get into the booth while I get everything set up.”

I walked into the booth and grabbed the lyric sheet where I had left them earlier. I placed the headphones over my ears and adjusted the microphone.

“Jess, you ready?” I heard Logan’s voice through the headphones and looked up to see him through the glass. Seeing him there happy to do what he was doing couldn’t stop the smile on my face.

“Yup. Lets do this.” I popped the “p”. I didn’t hear anything else besides the piano intro to the song. That was when I started to sing.

I finished the song, and looked up to see if that take was good. He was smiling likr a moron giving me two thumbs up, which I’m guessing was perfect. I walked out to of the booth to meet him.

“Oh my God! Jess that was perfect! I don’t know how you do it! Your voice is amaz-“

“Logan! Calm down! God you sound like an overly obsessive teenage girl.” He blushed a little at my comment, and I couldn’t help but laugh.

“Don’t worry Logie, I was just kidding.” I pushed him slightly.

“Kind of…” I added.

“Did you just call me Logie?” He questioned with a smirk creeping on his face. Now it was my turn to blush.

“Um… yeah. I thought since you call me Jess, I-I thought I should give you a nickname too.” I somewhat stuttered looking anywhere but his face. “Is that okay?”
