Sky's POV
"Hey, you alright over there?" Mayu asked through the phone, she always knew when I called her something was wrong but today I just had a strange feeling of being... astray?
"I don't know, there's nothing in particular that's been happening." I said truthfully.
"Just miss me, huh?" She said with a smile, "Hang in there, Sky. It'll be okay."
"I don't know, I've just been... having thoughts." I sighed, "Like, what if we end up never meeting again? I mean I know that's a very absurd idea but-" She cut me off.
"Sky... I promise, we will meet again. Don't worry. I know my schedule has been very chaotic but I swear someday we'll reunite." She'd always reassure me like this whenever I feel anxious.
I sighed. "I know, Mayu... I know I really shouldn't worry anymore, it's just..."
"No, Sky, zip it. No more excuses. I know you're worried, but there's seriously nothing to be worried about."
I didn't respond, picking up my phone and walking over to the window. It's evening time, and I look down from the second floor of the apartment: The roads aren't that busy... They never really are up here in Québec City.
"Helloo?" Mayu calls from the phone. "Are you alive? Did you drop dead from separation anxiety?"
"No, no," I laugh. "I'm right here..."
"Okay good!" Mayu laughs at her own joke. "I have to go now, but I'm missing you always! Bye, Sky."
"Bye Mayu. Miss you too." I smiled before I hung up...
"I'll be waiting for the day we laugh face to face."
