"Hey Daiki! Nice job." Yamiku said, giving the tall navy-headed boy a small smile. All he did was glance at her and walk away. She felt a little irked by this. She ran up to him, sweating from the practice game they just played.

"Hey! Aoimine I'm talking to you!" She yelled, grabbing him by the ear and dragging him down to her level. He winced, struggling to get her off of him.

"Akashi get your damn sister!" He yelled for Seijuro. He looked at the pair and smiled. He continued to walk to the exit. Finally, Yamiku let go. Aoimine stepped back and clutched his ear as if he was trying to protect it from getting grabbed again.

"What's your deal? Sheesh." Daiki scoffed, walking away with the other players. Yamiku turned around to grab her bag when she saw a pair of boys from the other team whispering.

"That guy is a monster.. with him on the court it's not even a game." One of them said. The other one nodded in agreement and continued to snicker about it.

Out of anger, Yamiku grabbed her sports drink and threw it at them. "Shut the hell up!" She yelled, grabbing her bag and running to the exit to catch up with her teammates. She saw Daiki  about to enter the bus. She caught up to him and put a hand on his shoulder.

"Hey, Daiki, don't let those idiots get to you, okay? They just suck." She said simply, giving him a small pat on the back and running inside the bus. "Last to get inside is a rotten egg!" She screamed. Daiki grinned, running after her inside the bus.

Summertime..

It was Summer now, and the team was in the middle of taking a break from practice. Kise looked at his team, his expression turning serious. He brought up the topic that everyone had been avoiding for the last couple of days. "Hey, has seen Aoiminichi recently? He hasn't shown up to practice in a while."

Later, Kuroko started skipping practice as well. Yamiku didn't feel right. She hated how the team was evolving, it was the bad type of evolving. Everybody was growing apart. The family that she had built over the years was tearing from the inside.  She walked out of the girls locker room in her basketball clothes. letting a sob escape her mouth as she heard a little bit of the conversation inside of the boys locker room.

"Shame, but I doubt his words will reach him in the way that he wants."

Before the boys could exit the boys locker room, she made the bold decision of skipping practice as well. She ran into the girls locker room and changed into her school clothes, running to Aoimine's class as fast as she could. Once she heard voices, she slowed down.

"I was hoping we could hang out." She heard Kuroko's voice. She put on a smile, peeking through the door.

"Could I join you two?" She asked, grinning.

.

They went to the convenience store that the team frequently goes to and bought some popsicles. Kuroko opened his mouth to speak. "Aoimine, you've been skipping practice lately."

"Yeah! We're worried about you." Yamiku butted in.

"I don't want to risk getting better." He sighed. "It feels like the harder I try in basketball, the more lame the sport gets."

Kuroko and Yamiku looked up at Aoimine in shock. Daiki continued. "At this point, I don't think I'll ever find what I'm looking for. Besides, basketball is just a game. I'm thinking about skipping games too."
