The Journey. J.

"So....You guys are gonna leave North America?" Harbour was astonished.

"Yeah, pretty much." nodded June.

"And, like... Are you guys ever gonna come back?" He put a hair that was on his face behind his ear.

"Probably..." Said June, but then she turned to Vapor and whispered, "I hope so."

Vapor and June made eye contact. Like they were reading each other's minds and seeing all the possible things that could happen after they cross over.

I don't know what's going to happen. But, I can think of many things that could. Positive and negative things.

It will either turn out to be the place of our dreams, and we then bring our families over there too.

But it can turn out to be a living hell, maybe it has slavoury. Comparing it with North America it might even make North America seem like heaven.

Forrest cleared his throat, "Have you guys thought about what you're gonna do when you get there? Because you don't know anyone or anything about the other side of that wall."

Vapor answered, "Pine and her father believe that that's where Qen escaped. We may know him. And with that information, there's a bigger chance of an actual sign of life being over there."

"I guess."

There was a silence, but it wasn't quite complete with the sound of the wood burning in the middle of their circle. There was peace. And it was comforting June.

She stood up, "Well, is this too crazy, or are you guys in?"

Bob jumped up, "Obviously I'm in!"

"You do know that you don't have to do anything, Bob?" said Percy.

"Oh, right. I wasn't quite paying attention." he slunk back down.

Vapor caught his eye, "You can go to my mother and tell her what I'm planning. She won't be able to stop me."

"Sure."

Percy patted Bob's back, "I'll go with him. I need some more fuel, if you know what I mean." he winked.

Fuel? What the hell does he mean by that?

Marsh hugged his legs, "I'm in favour of your plan."

"So am I. And you better not get eaten by some... evil creature that's probably living there." Said Harbour.

"Why would you think that?" asked June.

"Well, if we're not allowed to go there, what other reason could there be?"

"Maybe because The Circle is jealous?" Said Forrest, thinking out loud.

"Jealous of what?" Vapor asked.

"I don't know. But you guys will find out. And I'm jealous of that."

"Yeah, can't we go with you guys?" asked Coal.

"Ehh..." June avoided any eye contact with the boys.

Sure, I like these dudes. They're cool.

But I don't want to go with them... I just wanna be with Vapor. Is that selfish?

Tyson threw a stick in the fire, "It would be kinda suspicious. But you're gonna have the longest ride with them anyway. You have the toughest job, Coal. I wouldn't risk it by leaving to the other side with them."

They all look at Tyson who hasn't spoke through the whole conversation they've had. He didn't even interrupt June or Vapor when they were telling them the whole plan. He didn't even argue when they told him what they want him to do for them.
