The Life of a Girl

Scene 1

Vida Hart

Age 15

 I laughed as I jumped in the car. We were heading to in and out burger because my dad just can't cook.

Mom would cook of course but she's out doing book club with her friends. When we finished getting our food, I looked out the window of the car as we drove past buildings.

 Everything is just perfect. I officially graduated from 10th grade and I've got the best family ever-. I felt something warm touch my scalp.

  I turned around and saw my brother, Tristan who had just thrown a hot french fry at my hair. I scoffed. I picked the french fry out of my hair and throw at right at his nose.

 Before I could do my triumphant smile, in the front of the car I was interrupted by my dad "Hey guys I just going to drop you off at a house because your mother needs me to pick her up from her book club thingy."  

 My brother and I just nodded as we pulled up to our driveway. The rest of the night was kind of a blur.

  I watched Netflix as I devoured my cheeseburger and fries. God sometimes I can be a pig. I washed my face and fell asleep as soon as I hit my pillow.

 I awoke around 7:00 and looked in my brother's room to see him snoring on the ground with his sheets tossed all over the ground. Idiot.

 I walked in bathroom and applied powder foundation with mascara and lip gloss. I looked at myself in the mirror. I'm mean I'm no Victoria's secret model but I mean I look okay. I curled my hair and finally went downstairs to go eat breakfast.  

 I just nibbled at my breakfast as I thought momentarily, something is off. I got up and looked around. Wait, where the heck are my parents? I did a silent cry as I jumped up and ran back upstairs to go check on my parents.

 Vida calm down, you always overreact about this type of stuff, your parents are fine. I still allowed myself to open my parents door.

My parents were gone.
