Chapter 1

Third Person P.O.V

"Sage, Sage, Sage" A voice calls out to the red-headed girl sitting at a computer with headphones in. "Sage" The same voice booms as he takes her headphones off. "Yes, father" The girl asks the man? "Come on. We have to go to the studio" He says to her. She rolls her eyes where the man can't see. "Coming" Sage says as the man exits. 

She groans out loud. "I love music but he makes me hate it" She whispers to herself. Sage gets up and her pugs look at her from the bed. "Mommy, will be back later" The red-headed girl says as she pets them. 

Sage walks out of her room and follows the man.

*Studio*

Listening to all the cover artists recordings on the internet is a lot. Some of them are good and others are bad. Sage finally gets to the last video and she hears "My name is Shawn Mendes". She looks at the guy in the video and her eyes just lock on. By the end of the video, she was messaging him.

Sage didn't know this will change her life.

Sage's P.O.V

*Starbucks*

I sit down with my Venti French Vanilla Ice Coffee. I look at my phone and see that Shawn should be here at any minute. Then the boy from the video walks in and we make eye contact. "Hi, I'm  Shawn. You must be Sage" He says sitting down. "Yeah I am" I say smiling at him. 

"So, you liked my cover" He asks me? I nod at him. "My father and I would like to do some trial runs with you to see how you do" I tell him! He smiles at the fact that he might be discovered faster than he thought. "But, my father is hard-headed, just so you know. Just listen and it will make both of our lives easier" I tell him. 

We began talking about everything and anything.

*Present Day*

*Ring Ring Ring*

I answer my phone and hear "Hey baby, time to get going soon. Hope you are ready to meet my friends"! "Yeah I am. Just finishing the final touches" I tell Shawn as I jump out of bed. "See you soon" I tell him and hang up.

Sapphire and Stella start barking as I am getting dressed. I do my hair real quick and then get their leashes. "You girls ready for the beach" I ask them and they bark jumping on my legs. "Okay, okay, I'm going" I laugh out to them. We walk out of my room and to the door. 

I put their leashes on them right before we walk out the door. I let them go potty as we are waiting for Shawn to pick us up. As soon as they finished going potty, Shawn pulls up. I walk the dogs to the back seat and open the door so they can jump in. "Jump" I say and they both jump up one at a time and lay down on their beds in the back of the car. 

I closed their door and got into the passenger seat next to Shawn. I give him a quick peck before we leave. 

*Beach*

We get out of the car and I hear someone yell "Shawn Mendes"! I grab both of my girls and walk over to him. Shawn grabs one of the leashes from me and I smile at him. We start walking over to them but they decided to meet us halfway. "Where are the boys" Shawn asks them? The boy next to the girl points towards the water and laughs. 

Shawn chuckles and says "Never can wait, can they"? "So, are you going to introduce us" The girl next to the boy asks? "Oh yeah. This is Sage, my girlfriend, and her two pugs. Sapphire is the black one and Stella who is the tan one" Shawn begins and then turns to me. "Babe, this is Mahogany, Matt's sister Lexi, and her best friend Mekhi" He finishes saying but I see Lexi's face and I already know he gonna get it. 

"Hi" I say to them all shyly. "Hey" They all say in unison. Then a loud slap is heard and we all look at Shawn who is holding his arm. "Ow, what was that for" He asks Lexi laughing? "Never introduce me as Matt's sister again" Lexi shouts at him while glaring. I laugh at him which causes the rest of them to laugh. "Let's go get our stuff set up" Mekhi says picking up the basket. We all follow after him.

*1 Hour Later*

The four of us who stayed out of the water were all laughing. We were playing with my babies. "Sapphire, your kisses are so wet" Mekhi says laughing. "Same with Stella's" Lexi adds in. I laugh while adding in "Now you see how I feel". "The boys are all having fun" Mahogany says pointing out to us. We all look over and see that they are playing chicken. I smile at how Shawn is having fun. 

Mekhi says "I'll be right back". Then walks over to the water.

A few minutes go by and Mekhi runs over to us. "Sage, can you take me somewhere else other than here" He asks me? The girls and I look at him with concern all over our faces. "Yeah, that's fine" I respond back to him.

We all grab our stuff and make way over to my car with the pups. We get into the car and leave the beach. "I need to leave" Mekhi says as we leave. Lexi looks at him with concern. "I'm going to stay with my Grandma for awhile. She told me awhile ago, when my mom went into the hospital to come stay with her for a couple weeks and I'm going to take her up on it" Mekhi says in one breath. 

"Mekhi, I'll go with you" Lexi says putting her hand on his shoulder. Mekhi smiles at her through the rearview mirror. "I will too. We are friends now" I tell him as he smiles at me. "I would but because of tour starting soon. But where does Grandma live" Mahogany asks? "Dallas, Texas" Mekhi responds back to her.

"We have a tour stop there. I'll give you tickets so you can come see me at least" She says to us. Mekhi smiles and says "Thank you girlies"!

My phone then starts going off! I answer it and put it on speakerphone. 

Shawn- Is Mekhi okay?

Me- Yes, he is. We'll be going to his Grandma's for a couple of weeks. He needs to some time and Lexi and I offered to go with so it will be a bonding trip too.

Shawn- Okay babe! Am I on speakerphone?

Me- Yes!

Shawn- I hope you are okay, Mekhi. Sage and Lexi will be perfect for this trip with you. Please text whenever and Aaron is another problem. He is an idiot, do not let him get you down.

Mekhi- Thanks Shawnie!

Me- Bye babe! I love you!

Shawn- I love you! Bye!

The phone goes dead and we head to my house.

*Mekhi's House*

I drop Mekhi off and I say "See you in the morning"! "Bye" He yells back and go into the house. Then I go to drop Lexi off.

*My House*

I walk into the house with the pups. And I look and see a note.

Dear Sage,

I will be gone for 6 months in Japan. I love you and be safe.

Dad

I roll my eyes and go to pack my things.

*1 Hour Later*

I lay my head down after packing. I smile that I have three new friends and I also get to go to Dallas. I fall asleep thinking about all the fun we are about to have.
