Is it an original punchline? Nah. Is dressing as ghosts to get more candy something Ox and Wedgehead would totally do? Absolutely. 💀
The ghosts in the final panel are Ugly Ghosts (on the ground) and Ghosties (in the air). Personally, I think Ugly Ghosts are the spookier of the two, they remind me of the Groke from The Moomins. 😬
