Billy taps on the desk under his wrist. Today was the day when Y/n was coming over to study. He had perfectly planned it, no training, and Freddy would be out at rehab. It would be a normal, casual mandatory hangout. So he could pass that class. He remembered when he asked her.
The bell had just rung, "You free tomorrow?" Y/n sits up. "Yeah, sure." Billy nods before kicking his shoe around. "Could you tutor me for Friday's test?" She slides on her bag, "Yeah, sure."
The question that had taken him so long to ask, and took him longer to plan was answered so easily. He felt embarrassed like a little boy asking his babysitter out. And now she was gonna meet the overbearing family at his house.
"I didn't mention my family," Billy told her as they walked down the street. "I've met Freddy," Y/n says. "No- uh- all of them- I'm at this foster home." Billy didn't want to say it but it was obvious they were all not related. And you probably knew because Darla loved shouting about her big brother Billy. It was even more embarrassing, admitting he had no real parents. "You've been warned," Billy said, as they entered his house. They both took off their outer coats and hung them up, "Y/n Welcome!!" Darla said excitingly, hugging her. "Woah! Darla-" Y/n cut him off, "Darla right?" She asked. "Yes!! Thank you for being friends with Freddy and Billy!!" Darla exclaimed. "Sure- anytime." Darla froze, "Oh my god- are you sick?! Do you need an aspirin?!"
Her eyes were on Y/n's mask. Nothing but a typical fabric one, but Darla found it world-shattering. "No, I have this 7-inch scar a cheetah gave me," Y/n says, blankly. Which throws Billy into a little snicker. "Weak immune system." She adds, looking at Darla's face. Billy coughs before saying "We have to work on a project.." "No problem!!! If you need anything tell me!" Darla said. "Thanks." Darla walked off. "Sorry, about that.." Billy said, "She's good for you." Before Billy registered what she had said, Rose entered the room. "You must be Y/n! Thanks for being friends with our billy. If you need anything just give us a holler! Okay, sweetie?" "Thanks." Y/n nods. The two continued up to his room. Freddy was out at rehab for his legs. "What do you wanna start on first?" Y/n asks, swiping through a packet
"Maybe the first- Your bleeding.." He said quickly, noticing a blood drop fall from her chin. She wiped it casually, "sorry, can we continue?" Y/n shrugs. "Why were you bleeding?" He asked. "Not sure, this is due tomorrow so we should get started." She said quickly changing the subject. "Okay... how about we start on the first commandment?" "On it," Y/n said, pointing her pencil at him. He smiled a bit, when his phone went off, Freddy texted him about a robbery near them. "I'll.. be right back, Freddy needs my help back at his rehab, I'll be back in 10," Billy said. He was going to obliterate whoever was at that bank. He had seriously planned this perfectly and they had to rob it now, today. Leaving Y/n alone in his freaky foster home.
"wear your seatbelt." She said not fully focusing on him and working on the project. Billy smiles quickly before rushing off. Y/n loved history and quickly finished hers, he wasn't back yet so she rephrased a lot of hers and did his as well. Until Y/n felt blood dripping down her chin again. She sighed and wiped her blood. Y/n heard a distant footstep, whipping her head towards the entrance. "Uh, where's Billy? Did he seriously ditch you?" Mary sighs, "Someone else could have handled it, but then again there Billy is." She glances at the papers below her. "Seriously, you did his too?" Mary asked, looking at the finished papers on the desk again. "Sorry about him ditching, Freddy and him are close," Mary said, trying to make conversation. "It's fine, it would probably just be me doing his work anyway," Y/n said.
"You have a job, right? Freddy did mention you were a TA." Mary asks, taking a seat. "A TA for the library, but I do some search and rescue registrations." She mentioned. "Your Billy's Age and you have a job?" Mary asked, a bit concerned. "I just have a lot of energy to burn sometimes.." Y/n admits. "When I go off to college it'll be good for Darla to have another big sis around, if you wouldn't mind?" Mary asked. "I dunno I think I scared her earlier," Y/n said. "Let me guess, Rose and her showered you with hugs and 'thank you's," Mary said. "They were really nice, I'm not exactly sure what I'm being thanked for though," Y/n said. "Your humble, I'm sure hanging out with thing 1 and thing 2 can be.. hard.." Mary said. Billy returned and started to eavesdrop on the conversation. The room got silent. "Actually, not really. It's nice to have- a friend." Y/n said, fiddling with their words.
