Is There Someone Else?

You and Wayne arrive at Hawkins police station. The kind ladies directed you where to sit while you waited for Hopper. You both sit in silence. You fiddle with your fingers while thinking about Eddie. You hope that Hopper will believe you and that he will help clear Eddie's name. Your mind wanders to the man sitting next to you. How worried he must've been when he saw his nephew's name spread all over the news claiming he was a cold-blooded killer.  He was actually far from it. You felt bad for Wayne. Eddie didn't contact his uncle until months later. How much stress and anxiety was Wayne dealing with before Eddie contacted him? You didn't want to think about that too much. It was a horrible feeling. You remember how you felt when you saw his name spread across the news. How your mind floated to your first night together. It was that moment you wished you didn't leave the next morning. What would've happened if you stayed? You're snapped out of your thoughts as you hear Wayne talking to you

"Y/N?" He says ever so softly

"Hmm? Yea?" You are snapped out of your thoughts immediately and turn your head to face Eddie's uncle. His face expresses a softness you recognize in Eddie

"Thank you for everything you've done. Everyone here thinks he's some monster or freak" His voice quakes at the words monster and freak. Names he never thought he'd hear after high school. What those jocks and cheerleaders did to his nephew. Torment was mocked, and ridiculed all because he was different and outspoken. He was glad when Eddie told him that Corroded Coffin got a deal. Get him out of here. Let him live his dream of being a rockstar. And now that could be taken away all because someone is framing his nephew. He knows Eddie isn't capable of this. When he met you and he saw that spark in your eyes of how highly you spoke of Eddie. Ever since Eddie sent him that picture he knew you were someone different. And how quickly you came to his aide when he didn't even ask.

"He's not a monster or a freak. The time I've spent with him now makes me even more sure that he didn't do this. He's actually really sweet" You whisper that last part but you know Wayne heard you. He smiled when you said it. When Wayne mentioned Eddie being called a freak your mind wanders back to high school. You didn't think you knew Eddie but you vaguely remember this one time in the cafeteria you were sitting with Nancy and all of a sudden this boy, dressed in black jeans, white converse, a leather jacket with denim one-layered on top, with a hellfire shirt, his messy brown curly hair wild as ever stood up on the table and singled out all the stereotypes in your high school band, science, those who went to parties and especially the jocks. You remember Jason calling him a foul name. You remember making eye contact with him as he made the devil's face with his fingers as horns. You remember shooting him a reassuring smile. You remember him smiling back before he turned around back to his group. It's a shame you two never spoke in high school.

"Well, then who did?" He doesn't know who would do this. It honestly could be anyone. His nephew is a famous rockstar after all

"I'm still trying to figure that out......I have an idea but I don't have any evidence" Why your mind went to HIM is beyond you and you don't know why

"Maybe Hopper could help? He's always been on the underdogs' side anyway" It was true. He remembered how far Hopper went for Joyce when her son went missing

"Let's just not tell him that I'm hiding him...... Let's just say I ran into him or something and now he's gone into hiding" You don't know what Hopper would do if he found out you were hiding a supposed murderer. Probably tell your mum and that's the last thing you want

"Okay, that sounds like a plan" He nods in agreement. No one would even think of looking at your place for Eddie. You didn't exactly know each other

"Actually do you have Eddie's yearbook?" A new idea has sprung to mind and it couldn't hurt
