The gang all make their way to the high school. They all pile out including Eddie. When Steve sees Eddie getting out he stops him

"Hey! Woah! You got shot like two weeks ago you're not coming in" Steve says seriously. No way is Eddie coming in

"Yes, I am. It's my fault that they got taken away. I couldn't protect them" He's determined to get you out

"But that's not your fault you got shot" Nancy squeezes his shoulder

"It's still my fault! if I didn't leave none of this would've happened" He knew it was true. If he didn't leave when his name got cleared none of this would've happened

"Exactly. So where would you and Y/N be if you didn't leave?" Robin asked. Making Eddie think. Would you have still kissed him the way you did if he didn't leave?

"I.......I don't know" Eddie says unsure of where the two of you stand

"The distance forced you guys to confront your feelings if you didn't leave it probably wouldn't have happened" Will tries to make Eddie feel better

"What if.... what if they also realized I couldn't protect them? What if they've changed their mind about me?" Eddie stresses. Did you even have an opinion to change?

"They wouldn't do that," Jonathon says

"Okay fine! you can come but I swear to god Munson don't do anything stupid.... or heroic" He puts his arm down leading the group to the high school

Will and Jonathon stayed outside and called Hopper to let him know what was happening. The rest went to the high school. They could hear Peter talking to you

"Eddie probably realized that you're not worth it to him. But guess what? You're worth it to me" Peter sneers still planting seeds of doubt in your mind

Steve could see the anger boiling within Eddie and he puts his arm out to stop Eddie from doing something stupid

Steve steps in holding his bat with nails. Glaring at Peter

"Hey asshole leave them alone" He announces his presence

"What are you going to do? You're all alone" Peter laughs

"I never said I was alone" Steve smirks. Nancy, Robin, and Eddie all pop out too, and stand beside Steve

You are filled with relief when you see him. He's alive. You knew he was but seeing him was different. He came here for you

"Ahh so you did survive. Come to play hero?" Peter stands in between you and the group

"You know it" Eddie glances at you. You see so much emotion in his eyes. That everything Peter had said to you has just faded away. He cares. And he came to get you back

Steve, Nancy, and Robin all go for Peter while Eddie dashes for you. He first unties your arms and you throw your arms around his neck instantly. He hugs you back. You hold him tight not wanting to let go yet. He smells like home to you. In this moment you knew Peter was wrong. At this moment Eddie knew that the kiss you two shared wouldn't be the last. In this moment he knew you cared for him deeper than anyone else. Because it's how he felt about you. He cared deeply for you and wanted to be in your life. He hopes you want him in your life. He's sure you do but he wants to confirm it. Maybe not now. For now, he'd be happy that you're okay

"I knew you'd come for me" You whisper in his ear. You feel him nod into your shoulder

He pulls back and holds your face in his hands. You're both staring at each other. You give him a soft smile

"You're alright......Holy shit you're okay" He lets you go and inspects your arms. There are bruising and rope marks where Peter had tied you as tight as possible. He gently runs his fingers along the bruises. He's feels some boil inside him when he sees what Peter had done to you. But he can feel your soft gaze on him and he realises that you are in fact okay

He bends down to untie your legs. You stand up with Eddie and he goes to hug you again. You quickly kiss his temple while he strokes your hair. He can feel you shaking so he starts to rub his hands along your back to help calm you down. He doesn't want to let you go. You don't want to let him go. After everything that's happened you don't want to let him go. You want to hold onto him for as long as you possibly can. You feel his hands softly rubbing your back in circles and it brings you a sense of peace and comfort

"It's okay. I've got you. You're safe" He softly reassures you

You grip him tighter and he starts to stroke your hair. He kisses your temple softly sending shivers down your spine. You nuzzle into him more

Peter goes to say something but Steve slams his bat near him to be quiet. Police sirens are heard and all of you leave the school with Peter still tied up where Steve had left him. You and Eddie leave hand in hand with him gripping onto you for dear life. You see Hopper coming towards you and you let go of Eddie and run into your dad's arms

"Thank god you're okay........I'll take care of Peter you go home and take of yourself. He won't be going near you ever again" Hopper reassures you as you let go

"Thanks, Dad" You smile at him

You turn back to look at Eddie who is just standing there. You hold out your hand for him and he jogs until he's right by your side and grips your hand once again

"Was that your dad?" Eddie asks

"Yeah he helped me clear your name" You nod your head lacing your fingers with his

"Are you sure you're okay?" Eddie asks again. He needs to know that you really are okay

"I am so much better now that you're here" You squeeze his hand making him smile

You look over at your three friends and two brothers near Steve's car. They all look relieved and Nancy was waving you away to stay with Eddie. You nod at them and continue walking with Eddie

"I just need to check in with my uncle he doesn't know I got discharged. I came straight for you" Eddie stops you two from walking realizing he never told his uncle he got out of the hospital

"No of course. You go to your uncle. Thank you for coming for me. I knew you would" You go to hug him. He welcomes the hug. Of course, Eddie would make sure you got home first. But for now, he'd enjoy the hug. He's so glad you're okay. And here you are. Holding him

"Always" He murmurs in your hair and holds you that little bit tighter with you also tightening your arms around him making him smile softly to himself
