"Alright. I'm finished for today." Martín got up from his seat, taking his papers along with him.

"Where do you think you're going?" A voice called behind him.

When Martín turned to where the voice came from, he met a pair of dark brown eyes. Speak of the devil, one would say. "My shift is over, why do you ask?" Martín had raised a brow.

"There's still ten minutes before the shift ends. If not for those stacks of papers lying on your desk, that is." Andrés was always one to keep it cool. He had his ways of never appearing affected to anything one would say or do. All he could show was pure cold- and smugness.

Sometimes Martín wondered if he had a life aside from this. What would he even do in his free time? Brag about people's jealousy over him with his friends? Does he even have any? Martin's sure they're fake. Just like the man himself.

"Please. Those are for the whole week. I'm finished for today and I've talked about this with boss. Now, if you'll excuse me, —"

"Dude." Martín couldn't be more annoyed as ever. Of course Andrés had moved in his way to stop him. For what? Even God wouldn't know.

"I don't go around leaving when I've got nothing to do. I always will have something to do. You get paid to stay the shift, just like all of us."

"Really? When will you take the days off that boss gave you? Or will you wait til he says 'Fetch' like a good dog?" At this, there was no response coming from the other man. For a moment Martín was afraid he'd have to come home with a bloody nose with the way Andrés stared him down. That glare was deadly.

But then a mischievous smirk appeared onto those lips.

"Tell me, Martín.. Do you see anyone leaving early? I'm almost convinced they like their job more than you do. Don't tell me you're not grateful for the promotion boss gave you? Because it is a very wanted rank most of the people here want. If I'd have to exaggerate, they'd kill for such a promotion."

All Martín wanted was to go home and get it over with. Of course he loved his job. He loved it more than ever, it was the only way to feed himself. "Listen. I don't need to hear what you have to say, okay? Just because boss is your brother doesn't mean you can go around and challenge people for whatever reason. If it gets you off, that's on you. But don't challenge people who clearly don't want anything to do with you." With that said, he took the opportunity to leave.

This time Andrés didn't stop him.

The next day wasn't anything new. Same routine, same thing at work.

But he didn't see Andrés. Strange.
