"So, it's your Senior year, your final season, you guys are dominating your division, and it's the last Spring Homecoming game you guys will ever play as Knights. How does it feel?"

Frankie held her phone out, waiting for Brendon and Spencer's responses. She was doing an interview with the co-captains for an article featured in next week's paper, and as she sat in the team's lounge area with Brendon and Spencer, the other members were all scattered about, some playing foosball, some listening to the interview.

"Kinda bittersweet... It's like we're a family, ya know?"

Frankie and Spencer both looked over to Brendon, surprised whose normally carefree attitude was uncharacteristically sentimental.

"Over the last four years, these guys have become my brothers, and knowing that we're not gonna be on the field together anymore-- it's just... weird. I guess... when every game feels like the last, losing isn't an option."

"And what about you, Spence?"

Spencer was still nodding in agreement with Brendon when Frankie caught his attention. He looked over at her and sucked in a breath, his heart ready to burst through his chest.

"Going off of what Bren was saying-- for a lot of us-- we're Seniors. Who knows what's gonna happen after graduation, right? For a lot of the guys, this is probably our last season-- and we're losing the one thing we love the most in the world. Trust me, Beans, losing what you love... fucking sucks."

Spencer nodded a little over at Frankie and his eyes flickered a bit, causing a familiar rattle in her chest. Brendon looked from Frankie to Spencer, noticing the googly-eyed way the two were looking at each other before Frankie looked down at her notepad for her next question.

"Well, I think I'm all done grilling you two, so that should do it."
