It was a clear Tuesday morning and you and your classmates have just arrived at the twin towers.

The school decided to start the field trip early in the morning at 7:00. Too early if you were being honest but you guess more time to explore the towers.

Since there were four senior classes, they put you guys into two groups; one to explore the north tower and one to explore the south, then you'd switch. If there was enough time. You were also assigned to visit some of the other World Trade Center buildings that were in the vicinity. You were part of group b, which was assigned the north tower and WTC 5.

The streets of lower Manhattan seemed to be bustling with people. You didn't expect anything less even though it was so early in the morning.

The people in front of you didn't waste any time on getting off of the school bus. Everyone seemed to be excited about this field trip.

Apparently there is an underground mall where the subway is, which seemed to be attracting most of the students.

You got off of the bus and went towards your friends since they got off first.

"Oh my gosh I'm like, so excited right now," said one of your friends, Nia, after the teacher had given instructions to head inside to the lobby.

"I know right! What if there are hot office people in there?" said your other friend Daniellia.

You rolled your eyes at your friends' comments, silently agreeing with them except for the fact that you had a bad feeling about today.

Yet you ignored it and decided to admire the interior of the north tower's lobby.

"Is anyone else feeling extra short right now," you said to no one in particular as you stared up at the ceiling, trying to guess what the view would look like from up there.

"I always feel short so this ain't new," spoke Nia in a flat tone, making a joke about her short height. Daniellia snickered at the joke while you gave a small chuckle.

You and your friends talked a bit more before the teacher told you all to gather around so he could explain how the day would go.

Mr. Grogen was an old man with little wisps of white hair on the top of his head and wore frameless glasses. He was your homeroom teacher and was the most adorable old man you've ever seen. He's a good teacher too and doesn't mind the students much, so to say he was your favourite teacher is a true statement.

He was currently explaining that you would be divided into groups of six, which you would all explore the different floors of the tower with a guide. Apparently there was a sort of scavenger hunt that you guys needed to do and the winning team gets whatever they want individually.

You were put in a group of people you weren't friends with but were friendly with, meaning you guys could get along. Your friends got put in the same group though.

After you were all sorted into groups, Mr. Grogen gave you all the maps and the things needed for the scavenger hunt and sent you off into the 110 floored building to discover.

You and your teammates went over the guide to see where your group had to head to first. Each group had to choose a name, and your team decided on The Deaths. You have no idea what the name related to your group but you just went along with it.

After turning in your groups name, the teacher numbered the order of which floors you would go to. Obviously you wouldn't be able to go to all of the floors within seven hours, or maybe you would, who knows.

Yet after all this time, you still had that gut feeling that never left you ever since you got off of that bus. You thought you were just being anxious for no reason and followed you teammates to your first destination which is the daycare. It wasn't in the twin towers, but it was around them.

The World Trade Center included more than just the north and south tower. There were still world trade centers 3,4,5,6, and 7 which were located very close to the towers one and two, North and south.

You guys made your way though the doors of the north tower and started toward the daycare which was in you line of sight.

Once you reached the entrance, there was a little difficulty on getting in. Your team's at fault for that one.

"Ok who wants to go in first," said Darren who was the oldest out of all of you as far as you knew.

"Why don't you go since your the leader," said Stacy while she motioned to Mark who was currently sniffing the grass. Darren grabbing him by the shirt to lift him up, whispering 'stop that dude' before setting him down properly.

Once Mark regained his senses, he pointed at you , "Why don't you go y/n, you're the bravest."

"Actually that would be Sarah," You said while pointing your thumb in the direction of the girl mentioned, trying to save your own skin.

"Uh I think the heck not," she said in a slightly sassy tone.

"Ugh you guys are a bunch of cowards, I'll just go in first," said Johnny who then marched towards the door and attempted to open it, only for it to be locked.

After a few seconds of awkward silence, everyone burst into laughter, include Johnny who was not in the slightest embarrassed since you all made a fool of yourselves.

"Damn, all that for nothing," said Stacy while she calmed down from her laughter.

"It says here for visitors to ring the bell," you said while reading off of the sign that was on the side of the door.

"Oh, then that's easy," said Mark as he pressed the doorbell.

You all waited patiently in the slightly awkward atmosphere at the door before a lady came and opened it.

She invited you all in once you informed her that you were from the high school that was being given access to explore, showing your passes in the process. You didn't get volunteering hours from this though. A big shame.

You all walked into the building filled with children, not many, but enough to make that gut feeling come back again.

What is up with you today?
